Vehicle has major abs problems witch also affects the traction control. Vehicle randomly does not respond to braking at various speeds. Ford needs to stand behind their product and fix this problem before someone gets hurt as a result. I bought this SUV for my wife and kids it only has 100k. It shouldn't be having these issues.

While driving the vehicle sensor staying "low engine oil pressure" appeared on the dash, while at tree same time the lights flickered, the vehicle died completely, and tge steering wheel locked in place making it impossible to steer the vehicle off the main road. The vehicle had to be placed in park and re-started continuously until we reached the driveway of our home.

Vehicle will act like it ' jumps' and the wrench light will come on. Vehicle will decelerate if I don't pull over immediately causing me to come to a stop. Speedometer doesn't work while this is happening. Cant accelerate once stopped. Has to turn vehicle off to reset the computer and the wrench light will go off for a period of time until it decides to happen again. Very dangerous situation if on the highway and can't get out of the way of other cars to cut the vehicle off. Happens a few times a month.

Lost control on my stearing driving to my work this morning. I was driving on straight road when I started expecting lost of stearing, car was almast start driving to the curb. I put on breaks and car wouldn't stop. Tryed to maneuver car to stop from going on curb and turning to oppositside but there was outcoming traffic, but was very unfortunate to control that is was still driving even I was pushing on the breaks and car went all the way to side of the opposite direction and flue to the field and drew there for 100-200 feet untill it is stopped. I was lucky survive, because there was electric pole and some uneven lamdscape that I culd been injured or even dead. Dangerous! can't explain fear I experienced this morning. Scheduled time with Ford at sawmill in dublin, ohio to check what is wrong with this car!.

I have received faulty error messages on the vehicle, for example the other day I was driving down the road and the light came on like the car was overheated however there was no smoke coming from the car and the temperature gauge never moved up. My passenger car door light sensor says that there is a door ajar when all doors are closed whether the vehicle is stationary or driving along the city street. When I open the front passenger door and close it sometimes the inside lights remain on in the vehicle.
While in motion all the warning lights turned on and a warning beep would go off. It did this for 2 days, took it to get checked they told me a needed a new battery. Bough the battery and I still had same issue. Now the car won't start and the Ford retailer wants $125 just to diagnose the car.
I bought a 2007 Ford Edge in July of 2018. Less then 2 months later my pcm has gone bad burning up all 6 coil packs in my Edge. I have contacted Ford and there is a technical service bullentin on the pcm and coil packs, but was told not enough people have reported the issue to put out a recall. I can not afford over $2000. 00 to have this fixed. Ford is aware that it is a defective part and I dont understand why there is not a recall on it. I was in the middle of 6 lanes of traffic during rush hour and the SUV just lost power. I could have been killed. I had no warning or anything the SUV just slowly started losing power and check engine light didnt even cut on until after I turned Edge off and restarted. This is an issue in need of a recall ASAP! I have done alot of research and have found that the faulty pcm burns up the coil packs and everyone who is just replacing coils is going to have the same issue again since it is the faulty pcm burning the coils and until the pcm ($835) is replaced they will continue to keep replacing the coils ($80 x 6 =$480. 00) none of these prices include labor! also doesnt include the cost to reprogram the new pcm to my keys since if you dont flash the new pcm the Edge wont start due to the keys our programmed specifically to the pcm installed to the Edge. If you have already paid to have these issue fixed please still call Ford when and if they issue a recall (which they need to!) you can submit your receipt and be reimbursed for cost to have it fixed! the pcm pushes to much electricity to the spark plugs in turn burning the coils and could possibly cause the SUV to catch fire!!!!! I have not been able to drive my Edge in 3 weeks and still owe money on it!.

I took a left turn to get onto the interstate on 7/30/18 at 7:45 am. When I started to accelerate to merge onto interstate without warning my car stalled and I was not able to accelerate. I was able to pull over thankfully and turn my emergency lights on. My car started to "jump" and was basically stalling out. I turned the car off and then after 5 minutes I was able to turn the car back on and it ran fine. I brought the car to my local Ford dealership and they kept it for two days. They tried to recreate the issue but were unable to and said they could not read the error on the computer because it had been "wiped" out when I restarted my car. They told me to come back when the car stalls again. I feel very unsafe driving a car that can stall out and lose power at any minute. I drive a 24 mile bridge with no shoulders daily and interstates. I do not feel safe driving my son around in this car. Ford will not do anything for me until the car stalls again. They told me not to turn it off and "limp" it to the dealership(drive it slowly).
takata recall I am very disappointed and unsafe with my Ford Edge , for the last few weeks it has been shutting off when the car comes to a stop or in idle. There is no codes or any warning signs that comes up . The car just losses power and shits off on its own. I am tired of fixing and spending money behind my Ford Edge I know it has nothing to do with the engine because it was recently replaced last year July under warranty also I replaced all tensions and the water pump also spark plugs . I took it to my main mechanic and he could not figure out what's the problem he told me to go to Ford and I went to Ford and they took 2 days to tell me they don't know what's the problem . Today I was on my way home on the highway I come to slow down getting off on my exit and the car just shuts off and the steering wheel gets tight and I can't move or turn it . There was cars next to me and behind me and in front I could of got hurt or put others in danger . This is not safe for Ford to have vechiles out on the road like this with not source of how to fix it or any warning light.
Why driving 40 mph the car engine light flashed on oil pressure low. The engine shut off and the steering locked up making it in possible to get the car off the road. This is extremely dangerous. I had just driven on 4 hwys to get home 50 minutes. What if this happens why someone is on the highway.
I purchased this car new with 10 miles driven only 14 months ago. At 3100 miles it lost all electric/electronic/engine power as I was traveling approximately 40 miles on a city street with traffic! the engine light, service wrench light and dinging sounds flashed; the vehicle decreased in speed, and shut down, making it difficult to steer. Fortunately, I was able to coast off the street into an open driveway prior to its complete stop of the vehicle from loss of all power! then there were absolutely no power; ignition would not start; no lights, no power of any kind. After calling Ford service hotline, and about 2. 5 hours waiting for a tow truck in the hot heat, I tried the ignition - the power was back. Nevertheless, the vehicle was towed to Ford dealership where purchased. The next day their diagnostics and two test drives found no problems with the vehicle. I informed the service manager at wyatt johnson Ford, just because they were unable to find a problem, doesn't negate the fact that something is definitely wrong with the vehicle to stop abruptly as it did; like a computer shutting down completely. I do not feel comfortable driving this vehicle knowing this could happen again with dire consequences and want to report this hazardous problem to inform the public accordingly! there are no pictures to accompany this complaint. I await some information on this vehicle. There have been several people who shared similar problems with Ford, Nissan and other vehicles. I need to know what will be done to correct this problem further. Thank you.

When backing up I have the rear view camera but I do not have any guidance lines. I still do not have any.
All doors leaking at the door seal retainers and will not be able to repair due to poor designed flaw! all Ford cars having water conditions and still allowed to sell this defective cars ! I am a master mechanic and diagnosed it my self ! this is strictly a Ford quality issue for all Ford Edges of all years and most likely all there cars have a water issue . And it is my experience that car dealers know about it and due not issue a repair because of cost! it is a sad day for american products . Forum cars built better that this! by my experience.
The traction control an abs light comes on for no reason an will not go off an have been told this has been happing with these cars.
I went to the dealership to get an oil change and tires rotated. They said I needed rear brakes . Appointment was made for 2 days later. When I drove the car home after the oil change, the engine check light came on and will not turn off. I told the service advisor about the engine check light . It is still on.
We had had a problem for over a year. The ac makes loud noises and cuts out and stops working it will speed up slow down with no touching. The bluetooth doesn't work properly and the phone doesn't sink or drops calls. The check engine light comes on!!!!we first took to our local dealership kelly Ford im melbourne they couldn't get it to fail. Gave us the car back and were rude,my wife called customer care and made a complaint and nothing was done. We then sent videos of the issues. To the dealership we bought from which is 2 hours drive south of else delrare Ford. We drove there and showed the sales manager and service manager the car in the failed condition as we didnt shut car off and pulled into the service station after again sending text of videos on our drive down of the failing. They kept the car for over 5 days and again said they couldnt get it to fail when they restarted later. We were furious. We have again had to continue to drive this car paying almost $400. 00 a month and no one will fix. . . Or give us another car. Its a lease. We phoned customer care again they gave us a case number and said contact palm bay Ford and quote the case number if they didnt not fix the car or give a replacement until it was fixed we could end the lease early. The car has stalled while driving. The ac and fan vibrate so load and go from super fast to slow and then shuts off all while driving. We are scared to drive!!!!.

On April 3, 2018, my wife was driving our 2014 Ford Edge. As she was entering a curve at 35 mph, the low oil pressure light came on and she immediately lost the capability to easily turn the steering wheel, and the car began to slow down rapidly. Fortunately, she was not on a freeway or she could have been seriously injured or killed. She realized that even though the engine was still running, the gas pedal would not work. I called planet Ford in houston where we purchased the car and I routinely have the car maintained. Anthony, the quick lane manager, told me to bring the car in. By then, we had checked the internet for similar occurrences and we had found that there had been thousands of similar reports and millions of dollars paid by Ford in lawsuits. Anthony told me that he would fix the car at no cost after I explained the details and told him that this should have been a recall issue. They had serviced the car less one month earlier. On Tuesday, April 10th, I called and found that the car had been moved to the regular service area. It still was not fixed. Brad zook, the service manager, told me that I was going to have to pay for the repair even though I told him that anthony said it would be free. Later that day, it was repaired and we picked up the car. They had to replace the etb which is exactly what the internet referred to. I called brad on Wednesday and asked how they diagnosed the problem. He said it was a combination of codes (strange) and my description of the problem. How do I know that this won't happen again, or some other malfunction that wasn't a recall, will happen next!?.
The morning of 4-3-2018 I went out and started my car. As I backed out of the garage the "door ajar" warning light came on. While driving I noticed the door latches did not lock. When I depressed the door lock button the latches closed then popped right back open, leaving all doors in an unsafe condition, unlocked. When the ignition switch is turned off the radio shuts immediately and dome lights remain on. I sprayed wd40 in the latching mechanism which did no good. This unsafe condition still exists.
In a head on collision with a telephone pole, the air bags did not deploy. The electrical would just shut down. Brakes were acting strange. All while moving.
My service advance track light keeps appearing there was a recall on it about a year or two but will not be honored. . This is affecting my vehicle stability, traction, abs, and control of the vehicle.
Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the abs and traction control lights would suddenly illuminate before the vehicle would shut off. The vehicle was not towed. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer puris Ford of fredricksburg, va notified of the failure the manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 118,000. Jft.
The aws light stays on and says the driver stability controls are not working properly. Took it to a Ford dealership for servicing, charged 800 plus and the issue is still occurring. They claim it's a sensor issue but it's still happening! if I turn left or right the warning light comes on, if it's wet or dry the light comes on and when breaking the SUV slides. Will never purchase another Ford again. Not sure of the actual date the issue started happening.
On the highway my advanced service traction light came on and so did the abs light. Also my passenger door is shut but my light in my car is on and the door ajar warning code comes on with the door shut. And comes on while I'm driving and I have to pull over to try to get the light off.
Please allow me to qualify this documentation by stating that we have not yet brought this auto back to the dealer at this time. We purchased the car less than a year ago. The car has fewer than 3,000 miles. In the past week we are seeing the adaptive steering warning light come on after starting and as soon as putting the car into gear. This has occurred 4 times in the past week. We have not noticed any difference in steering, the wheel turning off center, none of the issues reported by numerous other people on the web. But I certainly expect this to happen at some point. My concern is how many reports are on the web from owners who experience this fault. And the many variations of how different Ford dealers choose to manage the problem. Everything from replacing the steering wheel to the good old "well, we can't replicate the problem" brush off. Once again, I have not yet visited my Ford dealer but expect to very quickly. I have no idea what they will do, if they will do anything, or how long it will take. What I do know is the following. . . . . . . An issue of this nature constitutes, in my mind, a questionable level of safety concern be it mild or major. The owner of the vehicle must pay for additional expenses by missing work, maybe renting a car, to have this problem possibly resolved or possibly not. And in the interim drive with a concern for safety. Because not everyone can just stop what they are doing when that light comes on and drive to a Ford service center which, for the most part, is only open m-f and usually requires appointments in advance. I am keeping my fingers crossed that our dealer, which we bought two new 2016 cars from last year, will be pro-active in addressing this problem once we can bring the car in. But I believe the NHTSA must become involved and demand that fmc develops a fix and offers a recall.
Car has been having electric issues for a while. Usually detected once trying to start. First issue is the back up camera. That no longer works while in reverse. Screen indicated it is not available. We also recently had to replace the shifting column. After a trip of driving coming to a full stop shifting to park the car would not stay on "park". It would not catch the gear unless the button on the shift column was toyed with a few times pressing on the button so car recognizes "park". It would search for "park" when car was off which would cause the battery to eventually die. We first purchased a battery thinking it's time to replace but once we did, it killed our battery again and then is when I knew I had to take it into Ford. $700+ to fix issue currently not recalled. This also forced us to buy jump starting cables before it was taken in. Car left us stranded a few times because of this. Dead battery:( third electric issue is that the bluetooth system doesn't always catch a device. Often the sync screen on the display will pull up with a loading bar. This happens randomly when starting car at times while in part.
Driver side door ajar light stays on at all times.
The door ajar light comes on when I shut the driver side door. The door is latched and is shut properly but the light still comes on. Every time I brake it dings and it displays the door is ajar and transmission is not in park light. This issue is sporadic.
The door latch is faulty. It is telling me that the door is ajar when it is closed. The interior lights stay on which will cause the battery to die.
I was driving 55 mph and car power dropped to coasting and I had to pull off the road. The oil indicator came on. I called triple a and then tried to reset the oil light to reset and the car started again with power. Cancelled triple a. Car was not reset after oil change. I could have been rear ended!! really scared me.
The truck suddenly stalls out, u press the accelerator and the truck doesn't pick up speed, I turn the ignition on and it doesn't start, it cuts off in the mist of driving and turning. . . Very dangerous there should be a recall and it should not expire I have my children in the car with me!!!!.
I bought this car in July of last year, it is now October. My heat worked fine this past winter but since trying to use it this year since it has started getting colder, all I get is cold air. I have even had the thermostat replaced which made it work for a day but had to take my car back in 2 days after the repair. My mechanic said it is the computer which I can't find anything about in my warranty guide. I know I am not the first one to have these issues as I have seen many complaints online. It would be great if I could get some help getting this issue resolved soon due to my 3 young children.
