1 Anti-theft Controller problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2020

My 2005 Ford Escape v6 stalls out skips sputters and my truck jerks really bad then anti theft symbol on dashboard comes on and truck switches off and back on in the middle of highway with traffic while driving down the road . Very dangerous. Also making a thumping noise from in the air intake. Gas pedal cable wire broke . So many problems with this vehicle. I believe there are several recalls. Please let me know so the Ford company can fix whatever it is that may be under recall. Thanks!.

2 Anti-theft Controller problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2018

Driving 65 mph on the interstate my 05 Escape began to skip, stall & died, anti theft light came on. I drive for 20 miles slow with it skipping and stalling. When I left off on gas it would continue to run until I made it to safe place. Attempted to drive for repair on state hwy it stalled and went dead. Ford dealership reprog keys- repaired drive off, barely off the lot and it quit again. Now I see this is a manufactures issue with 05 Escapes after an online search. New Ford diagnosis- new plugs & coil pack, intake gasket. 170,000 miles. My alarm randomly goes off too which could be related to electrical issues. Ford motor is liable if someone's vehicle stalls and is killed due to this problem they know about but have not corrected or recalled.

3 Anti-theft Controller problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2017

The contact owns a 2005 Ford Escape. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle stalled and the anti-theft indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer (capital Ford located at 4222 oleander dr wilmington, nc 28403) where it was diagnosed that the system needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 200,000.

4 Anti-theft Controller problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2010

I own a 2005 Ford Escape and have numerous issues since I purchased the vehicle in November 2004. The transmission has been replaced and one coil pack. Throughout the time I have owned the vehicle the theft light comes on and tried to shut the vehicle down while I was driving (40+mph). It cleared for a little while after the transmission was replaced, then it returned. Ford changed one ignition coil and said that if we changed the spark plugs it would probably fix the theft shut down problem. Well we changed the spark plugs and the vehicle continued trying to shut down the vehicle while I was driving(40+mph). Now the vehicle will not start at all. There is juice from the battery, all the lights and radio come on, but the car refuses to turn over. We have checked everything possible, including: the battery, fuses, and having it tested by a certified mechanic. The anti-theft system or Ford pats ii system seems to be defective which also be connected to the pcm. There are thousands of complaints regarding the 2005 Ford Escape pats ii system and pcm. I do not understand why a recall has not been forced. The 2005 Ford Escape were initially released with the wrong spark plugs which causes damage and they did not recall the spark plugs. With these very evident manufacturer defects, and tsbs that have been distributed through Ford - there needs to be a recall and items repaired. Consumers should not have to pay to fix the problems that Ford caused and will not take responsibility for. My vehicle is a 2005 Ford Escape XLT v6 3. 0l purchased at ukiah Ford Lincoln Mercury in ukiah, California.

5 Anti-theft Controller problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2009

I have a 2005 Escape. When I am driving the theft light goes on and the vehicle stalls.

6 Anti-theft Controller problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2004

Brakes are making noise intermittingly. It sounds like blowing in a bottle. Went to the dealership for service 3 times in the first month of ownership. They keep grinding down the rotors and it's not helping. Apparantly Ford corp. Is aware of the problem and are trying to find a cure. They don't know what to do at this point. Also, stealth security system failed, and the vehicle had to be towed back to the dealer for repair. This also happened in first month of ownership.
