The contact owns a 2006 Ford Escape. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle vibrates and makes a thumping noise. The dealer stated that the failure was caused by the inside wall of the tire tread dropping. The manufacturer will only cover 75% of the repair cost. The tires are continental contitrac bsw and the correct tire size is p2357016. The current mileage is 18,387 and failure mileage was 18,189. Updated 02-01-08. The consumer stated tire trend hitting the ground and 1/3" not touching ground on the inside of tire. Updated 02/01/08.

2 Tire Tread/belt problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2006

- the contact is calling to complain about his 4 original tires. The contact states that there seems to be something wrong with the tread/belt on tires. It seems like all 4 tires have some type of default/deform. The contact has driven he 9,000 miles on his 4 tires. If pictures of tires are needed contact can provide them.
