Power Steering Pump problems of the 2007 Ford Escape

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the steering pump was replaced three times from a recurring failure. The dealer advised the contact that the steering pump was a component that was known to continuously fracture. Most recently, the contact was advised that the steering pump would need replacing yet again, as well as the steering rack. The dealer advised that metal shavings were entering into the steering rack because of the replacement of the steering pump. The failure mileage was 49,000 and the current mileage was 52,000.
