The contact owns a 2008 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 mph, the air bag and check engine warning lights illuminated continuously. In addition, the vehicle began shaking. The failure recurred on multiple occasions. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 14v284000 (steering) and after the recall repair, the failures occurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 93,000.

2 Warning Light On problem

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the seat belt pretensioner became stuck on every seat except the front passenger seat belt. Also, the contact mentioned that the air bag warning light continuously illuminated. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

3 Warning Light On problem

Air bag amber warning light comes on after starting engine (solid light). Most times it will go out when you turn the ignition off and restart. Stays out for several weeks and the problem returns. This is happening for over a year. Several different dealers have confirmed problem but don't have a fix. Is the air bag system functional?.

4 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 09/18/2007

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Escape. While driving 15mph, the contact crashed into a parked mobile home and the air bags didn't deploy. There was damage to his vehicle; however, there wasn't any damage to the motor home. The front passenger seat was damaged and destroyed. There were no passengers in the vehicle or injuries.
