1 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 03/26/2020

When opening the drivers door sometimes a noise comes from the rear of the vehicle. It lasts about 1 to 2 seconds and sounds like a ratcheting noise. The vehicle is parked. It has been in service for two weeks and they can't duplicate the problem. I took a video and showed to them with sound. Also last summer it was in service for a week with no results. I saw a possible cause on the internet which was involving the fuel pump.

2 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2020

Purchased from Ford dealership while living in new york. Under the warranty, check engine light came on and fuel line was repaired in 2016 (Ford CO), I never received any correspondence regarding any recalls from Ford comp. Same issue occurred and I had to pay $2k to repair it because I was not aware of any recalls. I moved to waxhaw, nc in 2017. After the same issue occurring, I called the Ford motor company in lancaster, SC (moved here in 01/2020). I found out about the multiple "recalls" only when I called Ford CO in lancaster. I was never mailed any recalls. The Ford CO found recalls and I took it to them on 3/11/2020. Note that they did not offer me a loaner car, even though it was recall work . I picked it up the same day and two days later, it overheated yet again. I called Ford CO and spoke to jatoya and jamie. On March 17,2020, it stalled and then stopped while I was driving on the hwy. Check engine light came on again. I took it to Ford CO and they stated it had multiple issues that would cost me $6,700. 60 to repair! they replaced the coolant level sensor and a leak. On the NHTSA vehicle safety recall site, I discovered 5 recalls. Recall #'s 17v472000 (7/25/17),15v406000 (6/24/15)-electrical/instrument panel, 15v005000(1/9/15)-fuel system/gas delivery, fuel pump), 17v209000(3/27/17)-engiine/engine cooling), & 14v403000(7/2/14). I believe this should qualify as "lemon law" or an explanation as to why I received no notices regarding these significant recalls. Lastly, I trust that you will resolve these issues in a timely manner, provide me with a cost free loaner vehicle, and allow me to trade in this vehicle for another one (considering the costs and inconvenience incurred to myself and the innate possible injuries that could have occurred during the time that I was unaware of these. 3 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2019

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the vehicle made a loud humming noise while driving. The battery light and the oil light would come on and the vehicle would shut off when stopped. The contact had to turn the vehicle off and on and the vehicle would work fine. The contact stated that this issue happened once week starting on 12/22/19. The dealer westway Ford 801 w airport fwy, irving, TX 75062 (972) 584-9033 said the vehicle was not covered by a recall. The fuel pump needed to be replaced according to an independent mechanic the contact checked with. The manufacturer only said the vehicle was not covered under a recall. The failure mileage was 72,000 tf.

4 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2019

Check engine light started at about 75,000 miles. Car stalls after adding gas and will occasionally stall at "idle". Will also occasionally hum from the gas tank cover. Had to have the purge solenoid/canister (replaced 4 times), seal pump and other parts to the fuel pump replaced due to failure. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.

5 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2019

I was told 6 months ago by the tire & lube place by the Ford dealership (they work with the Ford dealership) that it looked like my coolant tank was possibly cracked, but wasn't a big issue since it still held "enough" anti-freeze. However my engine light ended up coming on later and I found out that it was the coolant sensor that was bad. This is already a recall with the 2014 Escape, but I keep getting told that is "is not for my VIN number!" also, the fuel pump was bad, so I had to replace that at the exact same time. And again, that is already a recall and I am being told "it is not for my VIN number!".

6 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. After fueling the vehicle, it failed to start. It took the contact several attempts to start the vehicle. The failure occurred intermittently and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. Green Hyundai (1200 s dirksen pkwy, springfield, IL 62703, (217) 525-1370) diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be repaired. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 60,000.

7 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2019

Vehicle looses propulsion suddenly with little to no warning. The high pressure fuel pump has been found to be the culprit. Fuel rail pressure will maintain 680-2200 psi for long durations and trips before randomly dropping to 50-80 psi and stalling. This happens at low speeds such as waiting to turn left at an intersection, sitting at a stop light, or navigating a parking lot.

8 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 12/24/2018

Stalling while driving. Prior to the stalling, gas cover began to loudly vibrate. Upon stopping to examine location of vibration noise, I opened the gas cover and lightly opened pour spout. . Excessive air pumped out. This has occurred 2 sequential days now. I see a tentative recall in 2015 for a specific date of manufacture range but nothing else regarding the fuel pump.

9 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 04/21/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that she turned her vehicle on and the engine turn off and failed to restart. No warning lights illuminated. Due to this, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact that the failure was not due to a recall and there was nothing that they can do. The failure mileage was 59. 337 nr.

10 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2018

My vehicles fuel intake is not functioning properly. Each time I service my vehicle with gas and go to start it up, it stalls and acts as if it doesn't not want to turn over then eventually starts right up. For a while this only happened when servicing with gas but eventually led to the, "improper" cranking each and every time I would start my vehicle. It also has caused the vehicle to stall/shut off without warning (other than a screeching loud electric sounding noise from the back of the vehicle) while actually operating on the road. I've contacted my local dealer, their recall department and such after learning about a "fuel system/gasoline: delivery: fuel pump recall" called, "01/09/2015" and another before in 2014 but they keeping telling me that my vehicle isn't subjected to any of those specific recalls and I believe otherwise. When I first purchased the preowned vehicle the check engine light go on and off from time to time but I never had the funds to go and actually check it out and because I would turn stat on for such a short time and remain off for such a long period of time I did not think it was a big deal, maybe a computer issue. But for the past several months the check engine light has been on without turning off what so ever and ever since then my car has been having all the issues that I previously mentioned. I had it diagnosed and the results showed that was the issue and the only issue the vehicle holds. I am in hopes of whomever this issue may concern of will be able to help link my vehicle to the, fuel system recall as supposed. Thank you and god bless!.

11 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 03/25/2018

Fuel pump has gone out in vehicle. After sitting idle for two days, it would not start to leave house. Had to tow to dealership, where they informed me it's beyond the 60,000 mile warranty so I have to foot the bill for it (even though the car itself is not even four years old). Car has 83,000 miles on it.

12 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2018

I was leaving the grocery store. I backed out of the parking space and within seconds the car started chugging like it wanted to quit. I pressed the gas pedal but the rpms would not budge. I pulled over to the side, shut the car off, and restarted. It took a few seconds before it would start. I pulled into the lane and it did the same thing. It did this 6 more times before I could actually get it to go without stalling. I noticed the vehicles produced a few months before mine had a recall for the fuel pump. This should be extended to cover other vehicles.

13 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2018

Car just shut off while driving in heavy traffic withouy warning. Almost hit. Could not restart. Had to be pushed across busy road by police to safety then towed. They tell me it's fuel pump at 86,000 miles. My VIN shows not part recall.

14 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2017

Fuel pump sensor not working right. Not letting enough air in. Making the car stall when in drive.

15 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2017

While driving on a busy street the car stalled and would not turn over to restart. Other vehicles had to swerve to avoid collision while it stalled and pushed to a safe location. Once taken to the mechanic it was identified as the fuel pump being the problem. Even though my VIN number was not identified in the recall of other 2014 Ford Escape it should be looked into expanding the recall due to the possibility of danger to passengers in the vehicles.

16 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2017

My car completely shit off going g 60mph in the fast lane on the highway indangering me and my 2 young kids it would not restart after many attempts, , moths pryer I complained to dealer that my car was jerking and sometimes felt as it wasn't getting fuel. But they continue to tell me nothing is wrong with my car but since it shut off it's at the dealership and was told the fuel pump malfunctioned.

19 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/27/2016

Vehicle stalls at least opportune moments, I. E. Highways/roadways. Drove it for 30-40 miles. Shut it down for 30 minutes. Start it back up, start driving, vehicle stalls within 30 seconds to one minute. Restart the vehicle, it would buck and stall repeatedly. If you let it cool down, it would run for a length of time before it would act up all over again with the above mentioned steps repeated. Had it in the dealership (autonation Ford - bradenton FL) for almost 3 full months as they tried to find the issue, in 4 separate trips. Each time they were confident that they found the problem. 1st was a lose wire on the mechanical fuel pump. Not fixed. Drove for 1. 5 weeks. Same stall issue. 2nd was a mechanical fuel pump replacement. Not fixed. Drove for 1. 5 weeks. Same stall issue. 3rd. Problem couldn't be found. Drove for 1. 5 weeks. Same stall issue. 4th was a fuel line sensor replacement. Seems to work so far. These vehicles seem to have a bad issue with the fuel system with numerous recalls on a wide range of model years.

20 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2016

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle stalled intermittently without warning. A warning code (p0087) illuminated on the instrument panel, which indicated trouble with the fuel rail. The contact waited thirty seconds and then resumed driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v005000 (fuel system, gasoline). The contact also received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v643000 (latches/locks/linkages) and stated that the part needed for the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
