The independent mechanic retrieved dtc code: p0450. The vehicle was not repaired. The check engine warning light illuminated became illuminated again. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic and the failure code p0450 was retrieved again. The dealer was contacted and made aware of the failure and the failure code information. The fault code identified a failure with the evaporative emissions system failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 122,089.
