Subject: request for buyback or trade assistance – 2020 Ford Escape se to whom it may concern, I am writing regarding my 2020 Ford Escape equipped with the 1. 5l engine, which is currently subject to multiple open safety recalls. Of particular concern is the active fuel injector recall involving a risk of engine compartment fire. I understand that the current remedy does not fully address the underlying defect and that additional actions may still be pending. In addition, my vehicle is affected by other safety-related recalls, compounding concerns about reliability and safe operation. Given the nature of these issues—specifically the fire risk and the lack of a complete and permanent repair— as well as a history of over 15 recalls on this vehicle, I am increasingly concerned about the safety, usability, and value of my vehicle. This situation has significantly impacted my confidence in operating the vehicle. Based on these circumstances, I am formally requesting that Ford motor company review my case for: • a manufacturer buyback, or • substantial trade assistance toward a new Ford vehicle, or • appropriate goodwill compensation reflecting the ongoing safety concerns and diminished value I would appreciate prompt review by a case manager and a written response outlining Ford’s proposed resolution. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to discuss next steps. Thank you.

Other Fuel System problem #2

Due to the two unrepaired recalls my family’s safety is at risk. The recalls could cause a fire or crash and with no remedy available my family is unsafe in this vehicle.

Other Fuel System problem #3

There is no incident, yet, just a recall that I have for this vehicle, coming up on a year here soon, for a fuel leak that could cause a fire under the hood while driving, and Ford doesn't seem to think that's urgent enough to get the parts to fix it. What's up with that? safety recall notice, 25s76 NHTSA recall, 25v467.

Other Fuel System problem #4

There has been a safety recall for this vehicle for the same issue for far too long. Fords temporary remedy has made my vehicle be even more unsafe to drive causing faults with awd, traction control, hill assist, power steering, alternator producing to high voltage, etc. The vehicle was not legal to drive from ‘at to February do to this issues. Fords temporary remedy issued a new recall 25s76 replacing recall 22s73. Supposedly this was going to fix problems with first recall update but the vehicle still experiencing the same faults. And is not legal or safe to drive in NY. When will Ford have to make right in these issues?.

Other Fuel System problem #5

Turbo failed due to oil lines clogged. Failed again after repair two weeks later on highway almost causing a collision.

Other Fuel System problem #6

Ford should act quicker than they are doing. The said vehicle could catch on fire anytime and Ford does not see an emergency here to get parts and take care of problem, they will wait until a life has been taken or someone is badly burned. We are talking of a fire risk here, like the Ford pinto which could catch on fire anytime possible if hit on the back of car. This could be the same problem that Ford needs to address.

Other Fuel System problem #7

My vehicle has been in the shop since December due to the turbocharger needing to be replaced. Through this site I found the fuel injector recall which I had to fight Ford to evaluate. My vehicle had 2 cracked fuel injectors. I have been fighting with Ford that everything I read states that this can damage the turbocharger. I am not sure if this is theright organization to look for help but I need to try.

Other Fuel System problem #8

While driving and idling, strong exhaust fumes enter the cabin, especially when the vehicle is in park or stopped at a traffic light. Air recirculation shuts off by itself and the airflow is very weak even on high settings. Remote start caused the cabin to fill with fumes before entering the vehicle, leading to headache and difficulty breathing within minutes. Symptoms are consistent with carbon monoxide exposure. Cabin and engine air filter is brand new. Just replaced 12/13/2025. Fumes are significantly worse at idle, suggesting an exhaust manifold crack or turbo exhaust leak. This is a serious safety hazard, and I am concerned about carbon monoxide poisoning and risk of losing consciousness while driving. It was so bad I had to have all windows open and the heat off in 30 or below temperature just to breathe. I have a very small child with heart problems and I'm concerned my vehicle is no longer safe to drive.

Other Fuel System problem #9

Cabin fills with gasoline fumes when on. Took it to local dealership to have manufacturer recall number25s76, NHTSA recall number25v467 repaired. Dealership can reproduce the issue of gasoline fumes filling the cabin, but says they can't repair the vehicle until parts become available. I contacted Ford headquarters in dearborn, michigan. Ford headquarters tell me the parts aren't yet available for the recall and they will not be able to assist. The case number for my call with Ford headquarters is cxh06494307. The safety of myself and my children is at risk because liquid fuel and or fuel vapor that accumulates near a hot surface, such as hot engine or exhaust components may ignite resulting in an under-hood fire, increasing the risk of injury according to the recall. Please help.

Other Fuel System problem #10

Summary of problem: following the mandatory software update for NHTSA recall 22v859 (Ford 22s73) on my 2020 Ford Escape 1. 5l, the vehicle experienced a catastrophic electrical failure. The vehicle is now subject to the expanded NHTSA recall 25v467 (Ford 25s76) with a status of 'remedy not available'. Safety failures: continuous overcharging: a multimeter test confirms the alternator is overcharging at 15. 5v or higher, posing a severe risk of battery explosion or vehicle fire. Safety system collapse: the overvoltage has forced multiple safety modules into 'fail-safe' mode, disabling the anti-lock braking system (abs), traction control, and awd powertrain. Network communication failure: diagnostic reports confirm a u3000 critical control module fault and 'lost communication' with the battery energy control module, indicating a software-induced network collapse. Undriveable status: the vehicle has been unusable for over 30 days and cannot pass NY state inspection due to persistent evap and module communication codes triggered by the recall update. Dealer negligence: [xxx] (dealer #xxx) confirmed that all physical communication lines are functional but refused a free recall-related diagnosis, demanding a $600 fee instead of honoring the federal safety recall mandate. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Other Fuel System problem #11

Nhtsa recall 25v467 was issued in July 2025. It has been over 3 months of constant fear for under-hood fire from possible fuel injector crack. My family's safety has been at risk long enough, this needs a permanent fix please!.

Other Fuel System problem #12

Catalyst converter just brock while driving. The muffler shop repair said that a lot of other car owner have the same problem, even the dealer salesperson tolls me that they can't keep up with part in stock.

Other Fuel System problem #13

Powertrain control module failure causing vehicle to lose power and engine to run at 5 to 6 rpms. And transmission not shifting properly. Vehicle is going into limp mode and will also shut down while driving but the engine stays running and the cruise does not shut off. There is not remedy for the recall that I believe is causing these issues. This has been going on for 6 month. This vehicle has been nothing but a problem.

Other Fuel System problem #14

My car togs a lot. My tire sensors keep going out. I've smelt gas before while driving. It's very slow going up hill. I hear grinding sounds intermittently.

Other Fuel System problem #15

My car hesitates when driving forward from a stop and the rpm's jump up and down. It almost stalls when going up a steep hill. I have to leave it running when filling it up or it is very hard to start and sometimes will stall after starting. Check engine light is on and tire sensor light is on. The sound system doesn't work. Have read online about a lot of people having the same problems with their car.

Other Fuel System problem #16

Vehicle has active alerts for powertrain control module, and low boost pressure with the turbocharge along with emissions codes p0299, p0496 and p0456. The vehicle is constantly going into deep sleep mode. While driving the vehicle started to enter safe mode. And displayed an alert that said please turn ignition on. The dash and screen went black like vehicle was off but it was still running. This happened multiple times. My vehicle also will not start after pumping gas so I have to leave vehicle running every time I pump gas. My vehicle will not pass NY state inspection because of the recalls.

Other Fuel System problem #17

Based on the current recall for the 2020 Ford Escape, fuel injectors could crack, become hot and further leading to a fire under the hood. This letter of notice was sent in August 2025, its now nearly 2026 with zero repair in order. This is a huge safety issue, having a recall for something that could cause a fire screams safety issue!! being informed by a dealership that there is currently no update, no parts, or currently no fix to this issue. That also screams safety issue. I don't want to drive a vehicle that has a pretty major safety issue and not have any idea if or when it will be repaired. Personally I am looking for a way to trade this vehicle in or legally look at laws how this works as I have a family to transport in this vehicle and no longer want to risk our safety. Its absolutely insane to have a pretty major recall open for this length of time and have zero repair for it.

Other Fuel System problem #18

My vehicle has had a recall for awhile and I have been unable to drive because it has a fuel injector recall and no parts have been made and they don’t know when they’re going to be made. I feel that if they can’t make the parts that they need to give me another vehicle so that I am able to drive to work or appointments instead of having to get rides, I have contacted my Ford dealership locally and they still have no idea when parts are going to be made.

Other Fuel System problem #19

Mfg recall #25s76 NHTSA recall #25v467 Ford is not complying in fixing this recall above. It has been 5 months and I have only received one letter stating the recall above. This is a problem with possible "cracked fuel injectors" which could result in a possible engine fire! when am I going to receive a notice to correct this problem.

Other Fuel System problem #20

I am the owner of a 2020 Ford Escape. My vehicle falls under the recall dealing with defective fuel injectors. The dealership preformed the suggested service or installing the drain tube and updating the software. I’ve been noticing that my vehicle has a slight hesitation while accelerating in speed and I would periodically smell the strong scent of gasoline, but no check engine or warning lights ever come on. Here recently while driving, my car started slowing down unexpectedly by itself and started idling extremely rough, almost like a tractor and the check engine light came on. I pulled over in the nearest parking lot, turned the car off and looked under the hood but didn’t see anything out of the norm except a small wet spot on the engine cover and there was the slight smell of gasoline. I didn’t think anything of it because I had recently had my oil changed and thought it was probably just a slight spill from there they and refilled the engine oil. I was able to restart my car and everything seemed to have went back to normal. I was able to drive my car to the nearest auto part store where they were able to run a diagnostic scan to see why my check engine light was on. The scan pulled two error codes: the first one being p0302 which is a cylinder 2 misfire, and the second one being p3402 which is a cylinder 1 deactivation/intake valve control circuit performance. I called Ford to see what could be done and they informed me that there was currently no fix for my vehicle. And when asked what I should do the person on the phone told me to “drive the car until it was inoperable”. Which is absolutely crazy to me!.

Other Fuel System problem #21

My complaint is regarding the recall manufacturer # 25s76 and NHTSA # 25v467 this has been going on for 6 months now and Ford keeps telling me there is no fix available. They won't buy back the car for a fair price because they said since it has an open recall they would have to auction it. It has bad missing after every time I put gas in the car. It is a fire hazard per the recall and is unsafe and yet I can't get it fixed or sell it as this is public knowledge available to anyone and no one with any sense would buy this car. Ford has had plenty of time to find a solution or fix it and since this is not happening I am stuck. I would like to be covered under the lemon law in tennessee and I am only asking for what the car would be worth currently without the recall. I need a new vehicle as I travel for work and cover multiple states and it is not safe for me to drive this vehicle and I can't get rid of it.

Other Fuel System problem #22

Faulty fuel injector.

Other Fuel System problem #23

I have a recall for my vehicle that was sent out as an advanced notice back in July 2025. There is still no remedy available. This recall states my car could ignite in an engine fire if not repaired. This could cause serious danger or bodily harm to me and others while I'm driving.

Other Fuel System problem #24

I am the owner of a 2020 Ford Escape experiencing two serious issues: 1. My vehicle is exhibiting the exact symptoms outlined in Ford csp 23b56—specifically, the failure of the driver-side door check-arm welds. The door produces loud popping noises, feels unstable when opening/closing, and has visible signs of structural stress. Despite this, my VIN has been deemed ineligible for the program. Given that the issue matches the failure described in csp 23b56, I am requesting a re-evaluation of my VIN’s coverage and a formal inspection under this program. 2. My vehicle is also subject to NHTSA recall 25v467 / Ford recall 25s76, concerning the potential for a cracked fuel injector leading to fuel accumulation on top of the engine—a serious fire hazard. According to NHTSA, there is currently no remedy available. This adds another layer of safety concern, particularly considering the compounding risks and Ford’s delay in delivering a fix. Between the structural door failure and a pending recall involving potential engine fires, I am deeply concerned about the safety and reliability of my vehicle. I am asking that my concerns be formally investigated and that Ford take appropriate responsibility for repairs, reimbursement (if applicable), or an expanded VIN inclusion under the csp.

Other Fuel System problem #25

Every time I tried to put gas in the car it will not start and the steering wheel locks.

Other Fuel System problem #26

This recall has been open since mid 2025 and there is still no solution. My vehicle has been smelling of fuel everyday and is having a hard time starting when I fuel up. Check engine light is on and the code is this issue. Cannot get it fixed until this recall becomes available to be fixed by Ford. It has been way too long. The safety of me and my family riding in the my car everyday is unsafe. I cannot afford to fix this on my own and be reimbursed god knows when Ford comes up with a solution.

Other Fuel System problem #27

Check engine light came on and car died at stop sign and wouldn’t restart. This happened multiple times after filling up car with gas. I took it to my dealership and they said it was the purge valve. I think should have been covered under warranty.

Other Fuel System problem #28

Got the car with many problems . Last recent problems purge cvavle, leak in emission, air make loud sounds . Now it’s my door was making popping noises when closing or opening, now the door doesn’t shut at all. No incident happen, just happen by itself.

Other Fuel System problem #29

My vehicle had been driving great up till about three or four months ago. It started losing speed, stalling and would not accelerate unless I pressed the pedal to the floor which I had to do in order to avoid an accident. All while this was happening the service light with the ?? would comes on, but once I cut the car off and started it up again the next day or after running multiple errands the service light would be gone and my car would drive normal so I thought it was just a fluke and I didn’t worry about it again. Until now!!! just today my car would not start and at the same time I would also get a warning saying, start the car or cut the engine off as I was trying to start the car so that was crazy. And in order to get it started I had to get the battery jumped, after that it would start right up. But later if I tried starting the car up again it would barley start up without multiple attempts of me pressing the push start, and pressing down hard on the brake pedal and to top it all off my car is losing speed and stalling again. . So because of this I had the battery, terminals, starter, and alternator tested and they said everything is fine so none of that is causing my car not to start up. While trying to find a solution and get a estimate on repairs, I found out my car model has three recalls on it but from what I can see non of these recalls should cause any of these issues. Still I made a appointment to drop it off tomorrow so they can fix the recalls and hopefully figure out what the problem is and fix these other issues. Any who, I thought I should share this just in case others are having these problems and maybe Ford will correct these hazards. Thank you.

Other Fuel System problem #30

The vehicle has 27,500 miles on it. Based on what the dealership repair group mentioned, there is an issue with PA. Purge valve. The part # is #fo lx6z-9d289-sh tube asy - fuel vapo. Since the car has such a low mileage, this repair should be covered under the warrantee.

Other Fuel System problem #31

When I go to start up my vehicle it stalls before it turns on. And everytime I put gas in my car it shakes as if it wants to cut off.

Other Fuel System problem #32

The vehicle in question shuttered into low rpm and then shut off with the electrical system still working with an error message: “manual restart required” and a flashing orange auto-start/stop indicator on dashboard. Vehicle must be restarted after stopping at a red light or stop sign in traffic posing a safety concern to occupants and other drivers while the driver manually restarts the vehicle. Local Ford dealership attempted to troubleshoot the vehicle. Issue is worst after getting gas and with low fuel in tank. Initial diagnostics showed no error codes. Issue began happening around March 2025 and has persisted and gotten worse since then. Vehicle taken for diagnostics around may 8, 2025.

Other Fuel System problem #33

My recall was dated last March 2025. Its almost 1 year and they havents fixed the car yet. It has a recall on fuel injectors.

Other Fuel System problem #34

2020 Ford Escape sel was taken into Ford service center for oil change and to address acceleration issue that started two days prior, (check engine light had come on the day before drop off). One week after dropping my vehicle off to be assessed, I was told I needed a small part and it would be complete in 3 days. Another week went by, so I reached out and was told that I need a new engine because of a known Ford issue. Unknown to me, coolant was leaking into the engine and destroyed it. I was assured by the Ford technician that this was a known issue and the problem did not arise from something I did/did not do. I was quoted over $9k and weeks worth of work. I easily drove the vehicle to the service center, but was told it is now no longer drivable. I drive a lot for work and had only had the vehicle for 15 months, still owing over $16k on my auto loan. I had no choice but to purchase a new (not Ford) vehicle and am now stuck with two vehicle payments. Vehicle is still sitting at the Ford service center while I pay on it monthly.

Other Fuel System problem #35

I have been notifying the Ford dealership about a problem that I feel is due to faulty fuel injectors since I bought the vehicle back in 2021, all of the repairs that have been done and that they have told me to do have not resolved the issue I keep getting the runaround, the vehicle sometimes while on the highway will automatically enter safe mode and I get a notice of an issue with the high pressure fuel system which immediately forces the vehicle to lower the speed to am unsafe speed.

Other Fuel System problem #36

I had first took car to get first free oil change from abc Nissan and the service department couldn’t do it under 5000 miles and just topped of the oil. I had went back like few days later for an air filter replacement and they did not have to part and sent me over to Ford right across the street. I had Ford dealership run a code diagnostics on vehicle and found it needs computer updates and an expensive purge valve after having car for a couple days and hit me with a hefty price estimate I could not or npp car warranty from abc Nissan couldn’t cover for engine repairs since it wasn’t an engine issue but can affect the engine. I had went back into abc Nissan recently for a possible trade in and just got the run around from manager that help sold me the car and seem it was a waste of time putting almost 7500 for the car down payment plus 518 a month for car payments to be cheated when car start to have issues.

Other Fuel System problem #37

There is a courtesy replacement on the main fuel injector. I just recently had to replace my turbo. No my car bogs down won't go and smells like eggs which is the catalytic converter. The injection brakes the converter which brakes the turbo and Ford is not interested in helping very much. How can.

Other Fuel System problem #38

With awd module. Tested power ground to the module. Isolated to faulty module no hill start, awd faulty module, new purge valve.

Other Fuel System problem #39

I was driving for uber and I smelled something biting along with my passengers, we had just gone through an area with a lot of smoke, so we figured it was that. After I dropped them off I noticed smoke billowing from my engine. The next day I had noticed my car was low on coolant, so I drove to ace hardware to grab some. After I put the coolant in the car I went to publix to get some groceries and when I got back I smelled the smoke again. I did some research and there was a class action lawsuit against for Ford for the Escape with 1. 5l engines and the fuel injectors cracking which caused coolant intrusion damaging the engine and causing them to over heat. I had my car towed to the dealership and the ect light came on along with a parking brake warning. . This car has been nothing but a headache, nothing but repairs since I’ve had it. There is also a csp, customer satisfaction protocol for the fuel injectors cracking and I was never told about it all the times I’ve been to the dealership. I’m thinking that’s what caused the overheating. .

Other Fuel System problem #40

I am smelling gas every time I put gas and it won't start after putting gas there's a strong smell of gas inside my vehicle the recall has not been fixed yet I am a single mother and this is a safety risk issue how do I go forward powertrain is also still coming up I have other things popping up saying recalls were never fixed please help.

Other Fuel System problem #41

This 2020 Ford Escape-with less than 67k miles on it-is mostly inoperable, as of this date. This car was financed, from a fort lauderdale. Fl used car dealership, on or around [xxx]. The check engine light was on. I went to autozone to see what codes this could be attributed to. I was given printouts, reflecting codes p0171 & p2bf1 [air flow ratio and/or fuel injector related issues]. Additionally, the oil life on the car was at 0%.  I then checked to see if there were any open recalls. There were and on 12/3/24, 2 recall repairs were done at grieco Ford (oil separator pan: 22v191; drain tube replacement: 22s73). The car was fine. An oil change took place on 12/14/24, where the engine coolant was topped off. There were no issues and the car was driven periodically, since its purchase, to miami, because my mother suffered a stroke on 10/21/24 and was in her 2nd intensive rehab. As her only child, I am her poa and advocate. However, on [xxx] serious overheating occurred, when I drove less than 1. 5 miles away from home, and no engine coolant was in the reservoir. The car was sputtering and losing power. I had to pull over several times just to make it back home. Additionally, a seemingly oily/milky substance was around the radiator. As of [xxx], the motor mounts are worn causing the engine to violently shake and the original radiator is warped due to potential oil/coolant leaks the vehicle could have experienced, well before these recall repairs were executed. Also, there is another recall on this vehicle regarding fuel injector leaks. Ford has failed at any meaningful strides in fixing the litany of engine malfunctions; electrical system failures; and this car's computers disconnect in diagnosing issues adequately. I found out all of these after financing this car due to limited options had due to a chapter 7 bankruptcy. I already paid $270 for January's-full coverage-insurance payment & have to pay a $410 car payment on a car I can't drive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Other Fuel System problem #42

While filling the gas tank with fuel the fuel spits back causing an unsafe condition. There is a technical service bulletin for this by Ford (number 22-2433), but no recall. Many people have complained about this condition.

Other Fuel System problem #43

The primary component that failed is the turbocharger system, which has malfunctioned five times since October 2024. Additional failures include the catalytic converter, and there is now suspected motor damage. These components are currently in possession of the dealership and are available for inspection upon request. The safety of myself and my children was repeatedly put at risk. The first turbocharger failure left us stranded in early morning traffic, with no engine power and limited ability to exit the roadway safely. Subsequent failures occurred within 24 hours of service completion. These breakdowns created dangerous roadside conditions, especially during high-traffic hours and in areas without safe pull-off zones. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed multiple times by the dealership’s service department. Each turbocharger replacement has failed within days, and the vehicle is currently awaiting its fifth turbocharger in two months. The dealership has also confirmed damage to the catalytic converter and now suspects motor damage. The vehicle has been inspected repeatedly by the dealership, which is in contact with Ford motor company. However, Ford has not provided a permanent solution or acknowledged the root cause. No inspections have been conducted by police or insurance representatives at this time. Prior to second breakdown; the Fordpass app displayed an oil life warning at 0%, which was reportedly reset by the service department, raising concerns about system accuracy. The vehicle has also triggered diagnostic codes p0420 (catalyst system efficiency below threshold) and p0234 (turbocharger overboost condition), both of which are consistent with the mechanical failures observed. Additionally, manufacturer recall 25s76 was acknowledged, but when asked whether the fuel injectors had been inspected, the technician stated they would only be replaced if a fuel leak or smell was present. This reactive approach contradicts the intent of the recall.

Other Fuel System problem #44

I have received 2 letters from manufacturer, than I had appointment dealer service, I went there and worker sad to me we don't have it, than I tried another services , they same answer, than I contacted Ford, Ford told to me car is good condition don't need replacement.

Other Fuel System problem #45

My car is making a severely loud noise when I start it up, and sometimes when I’m driving or stop driving. When I try to accelerate sometimes, it feels like nothing is happening and then all of a sudden my car will pickup fast and jump rpms. When going slowly through parking lots it will kind of putter through and jerk. I took it to does to get diagnosed and they said that it’s the flapper in the exhaust that prevents all cylinders from running at the same time. I was going research before they told me what it was and I saw other people have had this problem as well. The car is only 4 years old with 34,000 miles on it. My bumper to bumper warranty ended at 3 years or 36,000 miles and they’re saying it’s not covered under warranty and the whole muffler/exhaust system needs to be replaced for $1200. I believe this is a safety issue with the way the car drives on the expressway and not being able to accelerate and merge properly along with the fact that the exhaust effects the performance of the engine which feels like it’s going to give out at any moment.

Other Fuel System problem #46

The car was bought at matt blatt kia in July 2023 certified pre-owned with 164 safety inspection check. 2 weeks ago the check engine light came on and it was code p0420. Kia told me to call Ford and they told me I have to pay for the diagnostics and the repair. The car was smoking under the hood and didn't drive safely. It's at a shop and was told the catalytic converter needs to be replaced and it's 2300. He said Ford's responsible for it because there's issues and I just found out there's an active recall from before I bought the car that was never fixed which caused the issue now. Ford refuses to fix the car and I've had to pay for a car rental the past w weeks and my car payment. The cars sitting at the mechanic. Soon as the engine light came on, I tried to take it where I bought it they said I had to pay for it and Ford said it's not covered and neither dealer had loaner cars for me.

Other Fuel System problem #47

The camshaft leaks and has been recalled, but Ford is refusing to fix it….

Other Fuel System problem #48

Driver's door when opening would make a clunking sound. After opening it a couple times door would not shut. Finally getting it to shut, the door now will not open all the way. Also since this happening the window on that door will not roll down. Safety issue is that I'm afraid the door won't stay closed or it may fall off. Also the gas cap light is on, always been a problem even when the cap door is completely closed.

Other Fuel System problem #49

TSB found 22-2433. TSB says vehicle needs fuel filler tube replacement. This item should be a recall fix not paid by vehicle owner.

Other Fuel System problem #50

My vehicle is continuously triggers a check engine light, which goes on and off. It states on the Ford app that the engine is detecting that the exhaust gas recirculation system flow is higher than expected for the operating conditions. I have repeatedly requested that this be evaluated but every time I go in for service they tell me that they will not look at it unless the check engine light is on (which it goes on and off all the time with the same record) and they refuse to go off the check engine history on my app. There is also a sound coming from my driver side tailpipe that is low sound at idle but increasing whines/chirps during acceleration. I can't say for sure, but I believe these are tied together and the dealership tells me that I have to leave my car with them for at least 4 weeks for them to even take a look. I supposedly got an ota update to resolve this issue, but it hasn't worked. Check engine light is still on and off.

Other Fuel System problem #51

P2418 electrical fault has occurred with the evap emission vapor blocking valve circuit and its associated wiring.

Other Fuel System problem #52

I stopped to refuel. I turned off the engine. After filling the tank the car would not start. I contacted the service department of my dealer and they knew immediately what the problem was, a faulty purge valve. They said it is a common problem with Escapes. The service department entered my mileage as 53, 308 which was an error as the actual mileage was 33335. The dealer refused to correct this error. The repair cost me $494. 00.

Other Fuel System problem #53

Car died while driving down road due to a defect in the emissions system. Took to garage to tell me it's the evap system. Common issue with the 1. 5 ltr engines and not under warranty. Revise to cover it even though it's connected to emissions system under a 80,000 mile warranty. Well over 100+ complaints online.

Other Fuel System problem #54

The door welds broke and the driver door sounds like it is going to fall off. It affects how the door opens and closes. Also the evap system has caused my car to die out and have issues due to it being messed up. Ford did nothing when I told them just said it was because I needed to buy the most expensive gas. So I did so and it didn’t make a difference.

Other Fuel System problem #55

Recall came out in may. Still no remedy. . . .

Other Fuel System problem #56

I received a safety recall notice in February 2023. I immediately called to schedule an appointment to have the work done. Upon driving to the dealership, I was told that they needed to order the part from Ford CO. And it would take a month to receive the part. I again called the dealership after 5 weeks had passed, and again they told me that Ford is not making the part available, when the recall notice clearly states that it has. The dealership cannot give me any time frame that this part would be available, Ford CO. Has not answered my email or phone requests. Can you assist me in this, I am driving a vehicle that could catch on fire.

Manufacturer recall number22s73 NHTSA recall number22v859 I received notice that a recall was necessary to prevent fire and/or injury. I scheduled an appointment for 4/10/23 at a Ford dealership. Soon after, I received notice from the dealership that the part was not available and would be ordered. On 6/8/23, I looked up the recall status on the NHTSA. Gov website and it stated that "parts are now available to repair your vehicle". At that time, I made a new appointment with the dealership and they called to let me know that the part was still not available. I just want to go on record as making several attempts to resolve this matter, should my vehicle cause a fire and/or injury. Thank you.

The recall notice (22v859), states that parts are now available to repair my vehicle and Ford’s corporate office stated this to me when I called. However the dealership that corporate transferred me to states they do not have the parts and they don’t know why corporate is telling people they have the parts. I have been waiting 5 months.

There's a recall that may cause my car to explode and there's no solution and I can't get an inspection done until April.

Other Fuel System problem #60

I have been contacted by Ford that parts to fix the safety recall notice 22s73/NHTSA 22v859 are available at Ford dealers since the letter, dated February 2023. I have called several times to a few Ford dealers and they state that they have not received parts from Ford for that recall. I want to alert the NHTSA that Ford is not following through on their responsibility to repair my affected vehicle and are not being honest about their ability to have the affected vehicles repaired! what is the problem? why are they taking so long to get parts in and lying about the availability of parts when they contact their customers? please put the proverbial "foot in their butt" since they seem to have no other incentive to make things right! I called dealers as recently as March 31, 2023 and was told still no parts for the repair!!!.

Other Fuel System problem #63

After a few days of driving on rainy days, one day at mornging, my car stopped working and I couldn't start it anymore. Various alerts about handbrake, brakes, “stopping the vehicle” and more were appearing. I called for assistance, and Ford send me a truck crane. They couldn't put the unit in neutral so they could move it to the lift (first problem). When I took it to the Ford agency they checked it and after a week they accused me of putting my car in a big puddle. They told me that the hybrid battery connectors were wet. Why??? when he showed them to me, I realized that these orange connectors are positioned at the bottom of the vehicle, just 9 inches from the ground! I explained that I had not entered any deep puddle, but this water was due to normal driving on rainy days, which splashes in a normal way from the tires and the vehicles on the sides. I said, my car should be able to drive on rain, as the rain is something natural and normal. My car is in diagnostic in the Ford agency. They don’t want to pay warranty because they said rain is a natural phenomenon. This means that with puddle of water as small as 3 inches, water can get into these connectors, get wet, damage the hybrid battery, the unit and possibly cause an accident. If one day you encountered a slight 9-inch flood, it would be a sure breakdown! Ford should review why they put these connectors on the bottom of the unit, without protection against water, without a hermetic seal and with the risk of breaking down the system and the car completely. Sorry, I am from mexico, but this car is sell and produced in USA and I consider important to check this big mistake in security and in the design of the unity.

My car has suffered a sudden and complete loss of engine power while driving at full speed on the highway. This has happened on two occasions. These were very, very dangerous situations. Each time it was only through good luck that we were able to make it across two lanes of speeding traffic in a car with no engine power to pull off on the shoulder of the highway. After the car was shut down for a few minutes, it restarted each time. The first occurrence happened in June, 2020, while driving with my child. I noticed right after that Ford had issued a recall/update notice for my car that seemed to be about the problem that caused the loss of power. It was described as a "20b14 powertrain control module update". I had this recall/update done by a Ford dealer on July 24th, 2020. I assumed that there had been a defect in the car's operating system, but that the recall/update had fixed the problem. Then, yesterday, April 9th, 2020, the same thing happened again. My wife and child were driving on the highway and the car had a sudden and total loss of power, and it was only through good luck that they avoided a terrible accident and got the shoulder of the road. I noticed that night that Ford had sent me an automatic message to my phone saying "the hybrid powertrain control module has disabled the gasoline engine function due to an additional concern being detected. " I brought the car into the Ford dealer today and they tell me that they updated the operating code of the vehicle to address this known problem with "operation no. 212080a" to sum up, my car has now stopped dead on the highway at full speed on two separate occasions because of an operating system error. There must be a defect in either my individual car or in this model of car for a problem this serious to happen twice.

Front passenger door is coming apart - literally the inside structure is separating from the frame of the car. The driver door is automatically locking even when key fob is in the car. When rolling up windows- the automatic windows continue to roll up and down without touching the buttons. Engine is puttering upon start up- low idling. The engine cuts out when pressing gas upon driving.

Was driving on strret when car started decelerating for no reason. I pushed on gas pedal but car slowed to a stop in middle of traffic. Everything running but gas pedal not responding. Had to turn car on/off for several minutes before car would accelerate again.

Brand new 2020 Ford Escape hybrid car intermittently stops and ceases. Seems something wrong with electrical system. This happened while driving 10 mph down residential street. Car is inaccessible and cant even get into neutral. Tried disengaging electrical battery. Had to let sit for 15+ mins and car seems to reboot itself. Then you can start and put into drive/reverse etc but acceleration does not work and only idles. This is 2nd time happening. First time, we let it sit for 30 more mins and seems it electrically rebooted itself and car worked. Was able to drive to dealership. They had it 1 week and said its fine no computer issues. Bullshit. (8/19/20). Now, 8/28/2020 this happened again. This vehicle is not safe and will be looking for a replacement vehicle. We had a 2012 Escape that due to a manufacturing defect caught on fire on highway in 2014. Ford is not putting out safe products and need to be investigated for these faults as these are serious endangerment to their customers lives.
