Other Fuel System problem #1

There is fluid accumulation under the engine air filter assembly.

Other Fuel System problem #2

Engine light is now on and when I fill my car up with gas it has a stall and takes 3-4 times to turn on. My safety is at risk if this recall is not repaired and my car catches fire. Started a month ago and it's challenging to schedule with Ford.

Other Fuel System problem #3

The suspected malfunctioning component is the fuel injector(s), part of the fuel system(gasoline). The vehicle is currently in my possession and is available for inspection upon request. An independent mechanic believes the issue is injector-related and consistent with a known injector defect. The vehicle is subject to a fuel injector recall that wards of fuel accumulation on top of the engine, creating a risk of under-hood fire. In addition the vehicle experiences intermittent stall-on-start and engine shaking/misfiring during startup, which could leave the vehicle inoperable or unreliable, particularly in traffic or emergency situations. Yes. An independent mechanic has evaluated the vehicle and believes the symptoms are consistent with a fuel injector failure or fuel pressure bleed-down. The issue is intermittent and does not always reproduce on demand, which has made consistent replication difficult. The vehicle has not yet been physically inspected by the manufacturer. However, Ford motor company has an open case on this vehicle, and the VIN is listed under an injector-related recall/customer satisfaction program. No police or insurance inspections have occurred. No warning lights or messages have appeared. Symptoms include delayed starting, engine shaking/misfiring during startup, and stalling on the first start attempt, followed by normal starting on a second attempt. These symptoms began intermittently and have become more noticeable over time.

Other Fuel System problem #4

A car started jerking erratically. I put it in, drive or reverse. And the light on the transmission selector would just blink on and off and it would not go in gear when it did finally go in gear. It would not shift out of fourth gear. We'll erratic transmission would not shift cars behind me had to hit their brakes. Because my vehicle would not move very dangerous. I took the vehicle in the Ford. They said it needs a transmission. I've got 65000 miles on this vehicle. It's 5000 miles past a warranty. Warning light did come on. My vehicle is now at an independent transmission shop and they say, I need a new transmission. I don't have the money to fix this. And Ford is wrong if we're not correcting it I will have the documents today. We're Ford, it would only give me a small $7000 trade in allowance. Because it needed a transmission. I will be receiving the paperwork from Ford and the paperwork from the transmission shop that has my vehicle. Thank you.

Other Fuel System problem #5

Recall has been issued since 7/16/25 and a serious safety risk issue has not been resolve. It is mentally draining and scary that whenever we drive our car there is always a risk of safety like car catching on fire. We have been patiently waiting for a long time now. Consumer safety should always be a priority specially we have 2 kids inside the car.

Other Fuel System problem #6

I am writing to formally demand immediate action regarding my 2022 Ford Escape, VIN [xxx] a 0% financing plan and Ford’s new vehicle limited warranty. Since purchase, the Escape has suffered serious safety defects, including gasoline fumes inside the cabin, burning odors, and repeated performance failures tied to the fuel system. On [xxx] and again on [xxx], the vehicle flamed up while being driven, requiring emergency intervention to extinguish. In August 2025, Ford issued safety recall 25s76, admitting that these vehicles may suffer fuel injector cracking, fuel leaks, and under-hood fires while being driven. Ford further admitted that no permanent repair remedy exists. The interim software update provided does not correct the defect. As a retired u. S. Army combat medic and purple heart recipient, I live with ptsd triggered by vehicle fires and explosions. The Escape’s condition has placed me in a state of medical crisis, making it impossible for me to safely operate the vehicle. Ford has discontinued the line. I want a replacement car or I want to be compensated for the risk of loss of life if I drive the car. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. Other Fuel System problem #8

Before 8k miles and 10k, 22 Ford Escape check engine light came on two different times, app flagged for fuel evap system. Took in March and April 2023 and parts were replaced (control valve and hose) on two separate occasion, both within warranty. At 62k miles in June 2025, same check engine came on, had to replace hose again for evap system outside of warranty.

Other Fuel System problem #9

Problem with fuel injectors. Car has a very rough idle when cold. Also while driving there is a rough idle from the engine.

Other Fuel System problem #10

Ford issued a recall on my vehicle in January 2025. They state that I cannot charge my car until they fix it, or it could catch on fire. I paid $8,000 extra for a car I can charge, and almost never use my gas engine. I have now not been able to charge my car for 5 months and there is no fix available and Ford has moved the expected fix date from q2 2025 to Aug/Sep 2025. I also have to pay additional taxes in the state of vermont for my plug-in, which I can't actually plug-in, and paid $2k for a home charger which is now useless. I have contacted Ford at least 4 times, because I'm concerned with the safety of my vehicle and they refuse to do anything. I have to drive my son to daycare each morning, and I'm concerned the vehicle will catch on fire with us inside of it. The vehicle charges when driving downhill and there are a lot of hills in vermont, so I'm constantly worried that the battery may charge too much and catch fire. I have spoken with my local dealership and they can't do anything and again, after contacting Ford numerous times, their message is "wait". This vehicle is completely unusable to me, since almost all of my daily driving used the battery and I've had to pay for gas for the last 5 months. Ford doesn't seem to be concerned with my safety, despite admitting that they sold me a vehicle that may catch on fire. I also attempted to trade the car back into the dealership, but they won't take it due to the recall which has no firm date for being addressed. I've going around and around in circles with all levels of Ford but they refuse to do anything. I just want to feel safe with myself and my family in my vehicle, but I do not feel safe and Ford doesn't appear to care.

Other Fuel System problem #11

Very strong smell of gas in my car , affecting me badly , got sick and threw up and took car in , and Ford changed my catalyst convertor among other things , no lights lit up for anything , the smell that was there is why I took it in and they kept the car until fixed and picked up , now I don’t feel safe , I have a 2022 Ford Escape 34000 miles and have had multiple serious recalls and very unsure of this car !.

Other Fuel System problem #12

This defect has resulted in multiple vehicle shutdowns while in operation, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, Ford has identified a potential risk of battery thermal venting, which could lead to a vehicle fire, further endangering my safety and that of others on the road. Ford has advised not to charge the vehicle, further limiting its functionality and reliability. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes, stevens 112 Ford has confirmed that the vehicle is experiencing high-voltage battery failure, consistent with the recall. However, they have also stated that Ford has not developed a solution to repair this issue. Ford’s hotline has advised against any further repairs at this time. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? the vehicle has been inspected and diagnosed by stevens 112 Ford, who confirmed the issue. Ford’s technical hotline has been contacted, and they acknowledged the defect but advised against further repairs. No inspections by police or insurance representatives have taken place.

Other Fuel System problem #13

April 2024 - while driving to work, I stopped at a stop sign. When I went to turn, the car went into neutral. I had to turn the car off and restart before I could change the gears. I took it to the dealer who stated they could not get the vehicle to replicate what happened and to keep eye on it. November 22, 2024 on my way home as I was exiting off the highway, the vehicle starting lunging then shifted into neutral on its own. I was able to stop and put it back into drive. When I tried to drive, it went back into neutral and started lunging forward. I could not get it back into drive but was able to go in neutral 5 mph and made it home. Once in the driveway, I tried to backup and it would not reverse. I turned off the vehicle and restarted it several times and was able to back up then drove straight to the dealer. They did a diagnostic and said the transmission needed replaced. This should not happen on a 2 year old vehicle. I noticed on your website 9 recalls for 2022 Ford Escapes. The only recall I received was for the doors. I took my vehicle in to have those fixed and those have been on backorder since April. My driver's side has only 1 hinge holding it on. I pray it doesn't fall off while driving.

Other Fuel System problem #14

I responded several times to Ford's letters (Ford customer relationship center), including today and was told "Ford will not fix the problem at this time" putting my family's life at risk, especially our 2 year old son that the engine can go on fire. Should I take legal action?.

Other Fuel System problem #15

I have not experienced a safety problem that is related to this recall. The problem that I have experienced is that I can not sell the car to a dealer because of the open recall. I am basically frozen out of the market by the manufacturer’s inability to correct their own mistakes. Additionally it turns out that Ford missed their commitment date of resolution by October, 2023.

Other Fuel System problem #16

I purchased this 2022 Ford Escape plug-in hybrid vehicle new in October 2022. In may 2023 I received a recall notice 23s27 / NHTSA recall 23v380 from Ford motor company. According to this recall notice, the parts for the repair to the engine were expected to be available in October 2023. I have not received any further communication from Ford motor company regarding this recall and it is now November 2023. This exceeds a reasonable time to expect repair of this defect. In addition, entering my vehicle information into the kelley blue book web site showed that there are 6 recalls associated with my vehicle. However, entering the VIN number (absolutely correctly) at this NHTSA web site yields: "an error occurred with your request. Recall information for your vehicle is not available at this time. . Issue 1: car is currently @ dealership for recall 23e09 emissions. Dealership is currently unable to resolve error codes and reset, they believe due to a bad battery, car has less than 15k on it. They are obtaining a new battery. This recall has net even made it into your database yet. Issue 2: the more concerning issue, safety recall notice 23s27 / NHTSA recall dated may 26, 2023, of which we were notified of in June 2023 still has not been resolved. After several attempts to obtain information from the dealership and Ford itself we have not been able to determine if or when a repair may be approved. This is very concerning because of the nature of the recall and the potential for harm to any passengers. This is the third recall since our purchase, the first recall # 22s47 (under the hood fire) was supposedly corrected by the dealership on 01/26/22. I hope you agree the safety recall (23s27) is of utmost importance based on the devastating potential it has. I do not believe I'm being unreasonable by expecting a resolution to this issue in a timely manor, we are are just over 3 months away from a year since the recall was issued.

Other Fuel System problem #18

I want to hold Ford accountable for recall 23s27. Ford continues to miss their own planned dates to come up with a solution. I want them to buy back their lemon at fair trade-in value per kbb, which is $30,500. This reminds me of the Ford pinto fiasco many years ago. Thanks, richard meyer.

Other Fuel System problem #19

I have had issues with my car since the day that I bought it. First, my car squealed every time that I backed up. I took it to my local Ford dealership 3 or 4 times without this ever being fixed. This then progressed to my brakes squealing anytime they’re used. I barely have 25,000 miles on my car. Additionally, I have had numerous occasions where my car will get stuck and not shift, not accelerate which is extremely scary when merging into traffic, the rpm’s will jump between 3,000 and 5,000 and stay there while I cannot accelerate or shift. The vehicle has had episodes of shaking while I am driving, and now there is a grinding sound when driving for unknown reasons. My car has also sounded like there is a hole in the exhaust, although there isn’t. I’m not sure what’s causing the noise. Now I have come to find out that there are two active recalls on my car; one for the pcm control module (NHTSA recall number: 25v-467, Ford recall number: 24s55), and the sync/ display software update (NHTSA recall number: 26v-123, Ford recall number: 25s06) which is a lesser concern. I called the dealer that I bought my car from and they can’t service my car for the pcm control module via an appointment until 4/24/26 (over a month from now when I don’t feel safe driving my vehicle). They said that I can drop my car off before 4/24 for about a week, but that they can’t provide a loaner. I can’t be without a vehicle. Per Ford there are not parts for a permanent remedy anyway, and this is only a temporary fix as it is, which I don’t have confidence in. That’s ridiculous because the recall came out 7/2025. It’s been almost a year. They also told me that the sync software update is only a customer satisfaction, not a recall, so they won’t fix it, which is incorrect. I called Ford customer satisfaction and was also denied a loaner car. The only option that I was given was the possibility of a buyback program, which didn’t sound promising. I’m stuck in a car that I don’t feel safe in.

Other Fuel System problem #20

The plastic coolant nipple mounted on the high voltage battery was damaged and the dealership has determined that coolant may have entered the high voltage battery. If coolant did (or could easily) enter the battery, this would be a significant fire hazard and could lead to significant injury or death. The damaged part has been confirmed by the dealership, no one can identify how the damage could have occurred and the least unlikely cause is that I contacted a small animal without knowledge. No noticeable signs of impact (including leftover fur or organic material has been found anywhere under the vehicle. No dents, dings or other damage has been found by myself, the insurance company or the dealership and the location of this damaged nipple is somewhat isolated such that there would need to be some other signs if a more rigid object was contacted. I have tried to reach out to Ford corporate for a more thorough review and discussion but have not yet been successful. No prior issues related to the battery issue existed prior to its failure. I have a unique background that I feel uniquely qualifies me to complete this review and would very much embrace an opportunity to further discuss my concerns to ensure a full evaluation is performed by the appropriate personnel. The automobile is still at the dealership and pending repair/replacement of the battery. Assuming the part was not damaged prior to my taking delivery (I purchased new) and if the damage was truly caused by a small animal, small enough to not crack, dent or leave a tuft of fur, then there is no doubt this design has a flaw with serious safety concerns. Under common conditions, this could lead to a battery fire and under realistic conditions this could lead to death. Metal shield to protect the hoses from deflection that could break nipple, redesign plastic nipple to more rigid material (metal). (other considerations, there is a defect in the molded nipple and a recall is in order).

Other Fuel System problem #21

Ford model was built with a faulty fuel injector that could crack and leak fuel onto engine.

Other Fuel System problem #22
