1 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2025

The lane keeping system in my 2023 Ford Escape hybrid platinum keeps me too far to the left. When driving the lane keeping system keeps me too close to the center lane marker. I believe it is a potential safety issue for my car to be so close to the left side lane marker, often with the edge of my rear view mirror only inches from the left side lane marker. My local Ford dealer says the lane keeping system can not be recalibrated to center the vehicle about 6 inches more to the right (passenger) side to provide a lager safety buffer on the left side of the car. I believe the lane keeping system should be capable of being calibrated.

2 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2024

At any random time, all sensors fail. Blind spot systems, parking sensors, pre-collision assist, front camera fault, cross traffic system, cruise control, lane assist, auto headlights. Returned to the dealership multiple times, with no resolution. All sensors continue to fail, with no immediate fix available, according to Ford, until the fourth quarter. So, I am left with an unrepairable vehicle to drive in the already dangerous central texas traffic. The problem has been confirmed at leif johnson Ford, 501 e. Koenig, austin, TX 78751. Main #512-454-3711, service #512-454-3767, and reported to Ford care at 800-392-3673.

3 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 01/29/2024

My vehicle incorrectly read highway number signs as though they were speed limit signs. This occurred eight times on state highway 40 in florida; and once on state highway 35. The speed limit was actually 55 mph on highway 40. If I would have had “predictive speed assist” turned on, and was using adaptive cruise control, it would have automatically decelerated to 40, +/- whatever “tolerance” I had set. What would happen if this occurs on highway 80, or highway 100? acceleration to 100 mph, and possibly to 120 mph if I had the tolerance set to +20? this error, which happened while I was a passenger, could significantly exacerbate problem #1. See details in the attached 5 page pdf.

4 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2023

After reviewing my owner’s manual on my newly purchased vehicle, I was shocked at how quickly and unexpectedly I was propelled from 75mph to 105mph because of a new-to-me feature on this model. I was surprised and moreover shocked that a system like this is mass-produced and sold worldwide. Seems like the manufacturer should provide proper training materials and not just the dealer telling me to youtube it. I fear for my life every time I get behind the wheel. If someone unassumingly were to drive this vehicle without becoming accustomed to they ways it operates, I fear of what horrible accidents may result. I wish I could give the car back but the dealership won’t do anything for me. So I felt it necessary to make this report. Hopefully the features on this particular model of a major vehicle manufacturing brand are re-examined. Something just doesn’t seem right with this specific sub-model.

5 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2023

Starting on July 12th, 2023, my audio control module stopped working, so there was no sound in my car. I took it into my primary dealership (bob maxey Ford of howell) on July 19th, 2023, they deemed that it was the acm and order a new one. My navigation and my adaptive cruise control acted funny as well, with my navigation not lining up with my actual location. Fast forward to the weekend just a couple of days later, I received notices that my car was going into deep sleep mode to save battery. This went off and on for several days with no warning. On Tuesday, July 25th, 2023, my car was completely dead, and I had to jump start the car to drive into work. My sound returned to my car, and I was able to drive to work. However, three warnings popped up my dashboard and my Fordpass application. The first is an orange wrench, indicating a powertrain malfunction/reduced power. A second warning indicating a high-voltage battery warning, and an engine light indicating a service engine soon warning. I relayed these warnings to my service advisor at the dealership this morning, who stated that he would look at seeing how the acm was coming along and would get back to me soon. It has been several hours and I have heard nothing back. I am worried about what may come of my car and I haven't been told to bring it in.

6 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2023

The contact owns a 2023 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the adaptive cruise control altered the speed after detecting the number on the minnesota county road sign ending in the number 5. The adaptive cruise control was changed without warning. The vehicle gradually accelerated after the failure. While driving at slow speeds, the speeds spontaneously increased from 30 mph to 50 mph. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 19,280.
