2 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2015 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 02/25/2026

The back up/rear view camera display a blank or distorted image while in reverse and has reduced and distorted my view of what is behind in not one, but on both my 2015 Fords which have been recalled. I have come close on several occasions to having an accident. I got a letter from Ford confirming both cars are in a recall in October of 2025. We are now 6 months later and the service department at my Ford dealer has no answers. This is insane - 6 moths for both cars and they have no answers!! this is dangerous and it is infuriating that there is still no fix?!?!?!?!? this problem has been going on in both cars now at least 24 months. I want to dump them and never drive a Ford again, but I cannot afford to at this time. Help!!!.

3 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2024 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 12/11/2025

The safety-critical driver-assistance systems on my 2024 Ford Escape have remained in a failed state since March 2025. The blind spot detection (blis), cross-traffic alert, park aid, pre-collision assist, and front camera systems all display warnings and do not function reliably. The vehicle has now been in the dealership for over 62 cumulative days for this safety defect, including 38+ continuous days on the current repair order. Ford engineering has taken control of the case and has stated there is no fix available and no estimated timeline for repair. A major electronic module was replaced under engineering direction in November, but the same safety-system faults continue. The vehicle’s alert history and Fordpass data have remained frozen and non-updating for months, indicating a continued system-level electronic failure. The vehicle is still at the Ford dealership under engineering control with no repair available, which confirms the defect is ongoing, unresolved, and unrepairable at this time. These persistent failures impact multiple crash-avoidance systems and create a significant safety risk during lane changes, cross-traffic backing, parking maneuvers, and forward-collision situations. I request NHTSA review this as a potential defect trend involving the 2024 Ford Escape driver-assistance systems.

4 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2024 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 11/25/2025

The 2024 Ford Escape continues failing to record safety events. Alert history and messages sections are not updating after warnings . Because the alert-history system is failing, the vehicle does not store warnings. This prevents accurate diagnosis and hides safety-critical failures. Adas systems are unreliable, making lane changes, reversing, and merging unsafe. Ford dealership and engineering hotline have been working on the vehicle since Nov 3 and have repeatedly reproduced adas failures. Safety alerts have continued since March 2025. Ford engineers and dealership technicians have inspected the vehicle multiple times, including the current visit (Nov 3–present). Engineering hotline continues to escalate. Adas warnings have appeared since March 24, 2025. Today’s event shows that the alert history and messages features still do not log warnings even after repairs. “following multiple failed repairs and an ipma module replacement, the 2024 Ford Escape still fails to record critical safety alerts. As of today, the alert history shows only a single old entry and does not log new adas warnings. The messages section also shows numerous unread messages but does not display new alert data. This confirms the adas system and data-logging subsystem are still malfunctioning after weeks in the dealership and engineering involvement. ”.

5 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2024 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 11/25/2025

My 2024 Ford Escape remains in the dealership since Nov 3, 2025. Today I was notified that Ford engineering and the dealer still cannot clear the ongoing pre-collision assist / forward collision warning faults. This is now the 13th documented safety-system failure. Multiple adas systems have failed since March 2025 (blis, cross traffic, park aid, front camera). After the Nov 14 ipma module replacement, new issues developed including tpms failure and alert-history not recording events. Vehicle is unsafe to drive and unrepairable after multiple attempts. Ford engineering states codes will not clear. ”.

6 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2024 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 11/21/2025

Version, perfectly formatted, non-repetitive, and aligned with the newest updates (vehicle still in shop, engineering cannot fix, extended delays, failed module replacement). Yes, use today’s date (Nov 21, 2025) as the incident date. ? ? complaint #7 – NHTSA 900-character version (copy/paste ready) incident date: 11/21/2025 after a dealership-installed replacement of the ipma/front camera module (authorized by Ford engineering) 11/14/2025 , the adas safety systems (blis, cross-traffic, pre-collision assist, park aid, and alert history logging) are still malfunctioning. The vehicle has now been out of service since Nov 3 and the dealer reports that Ford engineering is still unable to identify a fix. The alert history remains corruptive and fails to record events. This is still unresolved adas issues and prolonged repair delays. Dealer has been exceptional in communication and left (2) voicemail stating engineering hotline continues working on it but Ford’s inability to provide a remedy leaves the vehicle unsafe and unusable until further notice. Nov 3 - ongoing in shop.

15 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2024 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 04/18/2025

Ford put out an update at the end of April 2025 that inhibited all advanced driver assistance systems from working. I took my Escape to the dealership twice in may and June and it’s not fixed. I called Ford and they promised an update in July but it’s still not out to fix their mistake.

16 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2018 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 04/02/2025

When the transmission gets warm, the car stops driving. It goes into all the gears fine. The vehicle has 102 thousand miles and I’m told the transmission needs to be replaced already. There are no recalls on the vehicle, but from what I have been reading, the Ford Escapes are known for transmission concerns. How is there no recall on the transmissions.

17 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2024 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 03/31/2025

I have been experiencing a series of error messages that pop up on my dashboard while driving since March 31, 2025. The first message is my adaptive cruise control braking is being turned off. The message reappears before I have a red triangle appear with the words resume control and a loud warning sound. The dash board starts a series of error messages that rotate saying pre-collision assist not available, check parking sensors, blind spot system fault, cross-traffic system fault and front camera fault service required. I have taken my Ford to the dealership twice. I am told there is not a fix for my vehicle until Ford releases a new software update sometime in the month of may.

18 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2024 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 03/28/2025

While driving with the adaptive cruise control, the vehicle displayed a hazard warning and beeping to take control of the vehicle. Then multiple other warnings followed including pre-collision assist not available, check parking sensors, blind spot system fault, cross-traffic system fault, and front camera fault service required. These messages would go away after turning the vehicle off, but would come back between 30 or 40 miles into a drive. Then in the past 2 days they stayed on as soon as it was started. No cruise control, no blind spot detection, and lights and warnings have been constant on my dash. I took it to the Ford dealership and they did not have any recalls on the vehicle. They said that they reset the ipma and did a ipma alignment. They test drove for 6 miles and all of the warnings came back on. They advised that another software update is coming in April. They reset the ipma again and said that when it comes back on to contact them after the new update comes. I called Ford warranty customer service and they advised that the vehicle is still under warranty and to take it to a Ford dealership. I told them that I did that and that the dealership is unsure of the problem and guessed that the upcoming update could fix it. I told them that I'm driving a vehicle right now that the dealership fully expects will go into a fault again while driving. I also raised concern that I drive a lot of miles and my warranty could expire before they have a confirmed repair for this problem. The reply was to take it to a Ford dealership.

19 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2024 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 03/15/2025

Our vehicle has been in and out of the Ford dealership 6 times now for the same problems. Now they say that it will take maybe another 2 months to have a fix. This is even though it has said each time that it has been fixed. Now they want us to return our loner a drive an unsafe car without safety features for the unseen future. I have had two case numbers open with Ford and they will not respond back with the second case. I have to keep calling them. They expect us to drive an unsafe vehicle and it is unacceptable that they are doing this.

On dashboard, states: regain control, bind spot system fault, cross-traffic system fault, front camera fault service required, pre-collision assist not available. We have a [xxx] in the car and the added safety features to assist while driving are faulty. Ford knows it is an issue but has not been able to fix it. Taken it in twice for a system wipe but it reappears within a day. Spoke with Ford customer service to begin a claim. We purchased the vehicle in June 2024 and started in July 2024. Was told a fix would be March 2025, now they said may 2025. Keeps getting pushed out because they cannot fix the issue. Warning lights on dashboard on at all times. Found oil leak again front cover and oil pan, leak on crank shaft rear main seal. Trans and engine dye found between. Rear seal leaking. Rattle noise at cold start, coming from turbo. Misfire at 2 and 3 cylinders. Blindside spot doesn't detect cars next to car. Due to the driver door being broken and unable to open it poses a safety hazard if car caught on fire or if an accident, unable to Escape. 28 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2020 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 10/26/2023

So there is multiple issues with my vehicle. First: I had the recall issue with the fuel injector "fixed" as the dealer stated. Now co2 is leaking into my cabin when the car is parked and/ or when the remote start is activated. You can not breathe. I bought this car because I have 2 boys in car seats still. It is a serious hazard for anyone that breathes it in, especially kids. Second: after pumping gas it chugs. Like it will try to crank up but can't. I have had this car for less than a year. After the dealership "fixed" the fuel injector this issue started. When it finally starts the car smells strongly of gas. Third: there was a recall on a hose that had to do with the a/c system. It leaked onto wires and caused a shortage in my whole electrical system which in turn caused the vehicle to shut down on me while I was driving on the interstate. Fourth: the blind spot warning goes crazy when you are driving down a road with no one beside you. Fifth: the lane keeping assistant has completely stopped working. I have reset the system and it still will not work. Sixth: the radio, bluetooth, sound system does not work because of the water that leaked onto the wires from the a/c pipe that was recalled. Now my biggest issue is that the dealership that I purchased the vehicle from tried to charge me to have the recalls fixed. I had to take it to another dealership and afterwards was informed that, that specific dealership will claim to replace the recalls but not actually do the work so that way you have to come back and they can charge you for the work. Could you guys please look into this? please call me at 478-396-9458 in regards to the issues, so you can experience them first hand with me. Thank you so much for your time. Also if you google the problems everything I listed is a huge issue with this vehicle but nothing is being done about it.

29 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2020 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 10/13/2023

The vehicle's driver's door malfunctioned. It is available for inspection, but I paid to fix it earlier this week out of my pocket. It was confirmed by an auto body repair shop. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives. There was no warning lamps' messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The first time it occurred was early last year. It was fixed under the warranty manufacturer twice. The last time it was a week ago, but it was outside the warranty when that occurred. So I paid to fix.

30 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2017 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 09/15/2023

Engine check engine came on and found coolant low, refilled, and 2 weeks later coolant low again. I suspected coolant leaking into the engine since no coolant on the ground. Dealership confirmed this and said new engine block is required. It is a 2017 Escape with only 33,000 miles now. It is ridiculous that Ford knowingly went into production with this bad engine design which they redesigned later. I found out that there was a TSB to replace the engine block. Ford knows the engine is an issue and only fixed some of the vehicles as the issue happens. However, my SUV has no warranty and I was told engine replacement is not covered. This poses a risk to my daughter with the possibility of engine fire if coolant burns out, not to mention hesitation at lights while turning that can cause an accident. SUV is available for your inspection. I feel Ford issued a TSB to prevent a recall so they do not have to address problem with all the vehicle. Nhtsa should force this recall or force Ford to expand TSB to all affected vehicles with no limit. Communication with Ford dealership and Ford customer relations is available.

31 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2016 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 06/28/2023

I order a nav upgrade from Ford $299, was unable to install it Ford said go to dealer, car was going to dealer for abs sensor bad and vehicle collision sensor bad, dealer fixed other two problems but couldnt upgrade nav and while dealer tried they killed the whole radio/sync/nav/handsfree turn the touch screen black and unresponsive. Now they want $1000 plus for apim replacement. I could live without the navigation update but now Ford's sync update killed my apim/sync/radio/handsfree and I cannot live without that.

My main car display is dying and it’s also my way into the car, diagnostic reporting and navigation. Navigating is harder with out main display freezing or not working at all. Also my blind spot sensor goes off at random times in which nobody had a answer for me on a fix for that.

33 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2016 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 05/15/2023

Today- 5/22/2023 - Ford dealer attempted to perform sync3 software update from version 1 to version 3 as promoted and advertised by Ford motor CO. This was performed by dealer after personal attempts at WI-fi and flash drive update processes failed. Following dealer attempted sync 3 update, no update could be accomplished and the synch 3 system is now not active- no radio, bluetooth( hands free phone usage), no rear camera or safety alarm for potential obstacles when backing up. I was informed the issue is a common result due to defective apim module. Yet Ford promotes/ provides the software updates ( free) thru their website/ dealers. I have filed a claim with Ford today and initially told there is nothing they can do, but I can purchase a new apim module ($750) and have it installed ($300) that may correct this.

34 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2013 Ford Escape
