The contact owns a 2012 Ford Escape. The contact stated that when he arrived to work and was attempting to exit the vehicle, the driver’s side seat belt failed to unlatch after several attempts. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that he leaned the seat backwards and crawled out of the seat. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact also stated that the hatchback also would not close securely. The contact stated that he disassembled the hatchback and attempted to repair the locking mechanism. The contact stated he was able to close the hatchback, but the hatchback would no longer open. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact moved the vehicle to the shoulder and was able to restart it after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated that the ignition coil, spark plug, and the power control module would have to be replaced. The parts were replaced but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The pcm was replaced a second time along with the battery. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 97,500. Updated 02/26/lj also, the air bag light illuminated. The dealer cleared the cods for the connection on the drivers side seat belt buckle.

2007 Ford Escape. Consumer writes in regards to dissatisfaction with needed vehicle repair
the consumer stated when he picked his vehicle up from the repair shop, he discovered the driver and passenger side buckle assemblies were not fixed. The consumer was informed the parts were on backorder.

Starting approx. December 20, 2007 the drivers side seat belt began to "stick". When the driver tries to unbuckle the seatbelt it will not unbuckle after the first, second or sometimes third attempt. This could be a potential threat to the driver in the event the driver must unbuckle quickly.
The contact drove through a patch of snow in the road and the vehicle's rear end spun around and hit another vehicle. The contact believed that the abs sensor, that was replaced by the dealership ,caused this accident. The contact sustained injuries do to the seat beat buckle breaking during the accident.

Consumer is experiencing trouble with rear passenger side shoulder belt belt is in a locked position. Dealer has been contatced to remedy problem, but has not been able to correct at this problem. Please provide further details.
Nhtsa recall# 03v507000 subject:seat belt buckle cover. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the free remedy. The consumer also asked the mechanic to do an oil change. The dealer kept the vehicle for a while and returned the vehicle to the consumer. After about thirty minutes, the dealer's mechanic called and informed the consumer that the recall repair and the oil change was not done because the mechanic forgot to do it. The mechanic only did a diagnostic test.
