Following ongoing unresolved adas and pre-collision assist failures that have required repeated service visits and manufacturer engineering involvement, my vehicle underwent a master modem/system reset while in dealership custody. After this reset, vehicle access, safety alert history, and diagnostic data were erased, preventing verification, monitoring, or reconstruction of safety-critical events. Safety issue description on or about December 11, 2025, while the vehicle remained in service for unresolved safety system failures, the dealership performed a master reset of the vehicle’s modem/telemetry system. Immediately afterward: •my Fordpass access was removed •all historical vehicle alerts and safety warnings were erased •no active alerts are displayed, despite documented prior adas failures •the vehicle now shows no alert history, no mileage data, and no retrievable safety logs •the vehicle appears as a new/uninitialized vehicle in the Fordpass system this reset occurred without resolving the underlying safety defect and while engineering had previously indicated no fix was available. Systems affected the loss of telemetry, alert history, and diagnostic logging impacts multiple advanced driver assistance systems (adas), including but not limited •forward collision warning •automatic emergency braking •lane departure warning •lane keeping assistance •blind spot warning •rear cross-traffic warning these systems rely on integrated camera, sensor, and software data that can no longer be verified, reviewed, or audited. Why this is a safety concern the master reset eliminated evidence of prior safety warnings and failures, impairing: •driver awareness of active or recurring safety conditions •manufacturer and regulator ability to diagnose or confirm defect behavior •event reconstruction in the event of a collision or near-miss •oversight of whether safety systems are functioning as designed.

The 2024 Ford Escape continues failing to record safety events. Alert history and messages sections are not updating after warnings . Because the alert-history system is failing, the vehicle does not store warnings. This prevents accurate diagnosis and hides safety-critical failures. Adas systems are unreliable, making lane changes, reversing, and merging unsafe. Ford dealership and engineering hotline have been working on the vehicle since Nov 3 and have repeatedly reproduced adas failures. Safety alerts have continued since March 2025. Ford engineers and dealership technicians have inspected the vehicle multiple times, including the current visit (Nov 3–present). Engineering hotline continues to escalate. Adas warnings have appeared since March 24, 2025. Today’s event shows that the alert history and messages features still do not log warnings even after repairs. “following multiple failed repairs and an ipma module replacement, the 2024 Ford Escape still fails to record critical safety alerts. As of today, the alert history shows only a single old entry and does not log new adas warnings. The messages section also shows numerous unread messages but does not display new alert data. This confirms the adas system and data-logging subsystem are still malfunctioning after weeks in the dealership and engineering involvement. ”.
Version, perfectly formatted, non-repetitive, and aligned with the newest updates (vehicle still in shop, engineering cannot fix, extended delays, failed module replacement). Yes, use today’s date (Nov 21, 2025) as the incident date. ? ? complaint #7 – NHTSA 900-character version (copy/paste ready) incident date: 11/21/2025 after a dealership-installed replacement of the ipma/front camera module (authorized by Ford engineering) 11/14/2025 , the adas safety systems (blis, cross-traffic, pre-collision assist, park aid, and alert history logging) are still malfunctioning. The vehicle has now been out of service since Nov 3 and the dealer reports that Ford engineering is still unable to identify a fix. The alert history remains corruptive and fails to record events. This is still unresolved adas issues and prolonged repair delays. Dealer has been exceptional in communication and left (2) voicemail stating engineering hotline continues working on it but Ford’s inability to provide a remedy leaves the vehicle unsafe and unusable until further notice. Nov 3 - ongoing in shop.
Answer #1 — component or system failed the safety-sensor system failed, including the idpm/PA module (park aid module), blind spot detection system, cross-traffic alert sensors, and the vehicle’s alert-history recording system. The vehicle and replaced module are available for inspection upon request. Answer #2 — how safety was put at risk the vehicle intermittently loses blind spot monitoring, cross-traffic alerts, and parking assistance, which can cause missed hazards, unsafe lane changes, and inaccurate detection of surrounding vehicles. The system also fails to record or retain safety alerts, preventing accurate diagnosis and leaving safety events untracked. Answer #3 — has the problem been reproduced or confirmed? yes. The dealership and Ford engineering hotline have both confirmed continued faults even after replacing the idpm/PA module. Alerts continue to appear intermittently, and the dealership states they are still unable to correct or stabilize the system. Answer #4 — has the vehicle been inspected by manufacturer or others? yes. • multiple inspections by the Ford dealership • diagnostics and direction from Ford corporate engineering hotline • the issue remains unresolved despite repeated repairs, module replacement, and engineering involvement. Answer #5 — warning lamps, messages, first appearance yes. Warnings include: • blind spot detection with cross traffic fault • park aid malfunction • missing or incomplete alert-history logs and system cannot be cleared after new install • recurring safety warnings since March 2025, continuing today after module replacement. This extends the current out-of-service period to 17 consecutive days, with no confirmed fix and an open engineering case from Ford. This further supp.

Repeated failures of blis, cross-traffic alert, pre-collision assist, parking aid, front camera/ipma, cruise control, and miles-to-empty (mte). Likely adas module/ipma-related. Vehicle is currently at Ford dealership and available for inspection. Adas failures caused no blind spot, no cross-traffic, and no forward collision warnings. Nearly collided during a lane change when blis did not detect a vehicle beside me. Safety systems fail unpredictably at highway speeds, increasing risk to me and other drivers. Yes. Ford dealership reproduced the problems on multiple visits, and Ford hotline engineers confirmed the adas faults. Ford authorized replacement of the ipma (front camera/adas module). Yes. The Ford dealership technicians and (2) Ford engineering hotline have inspected the adas system multiple times. Ford’s technical support confirmed the faults and authorized replacement of the ipma module, indicating manufacturer-level inspection and intervention. No police or insurance inspections were conducted because no crash occurred. Yes—blis faults, cross-traffic faults, pre-collision assist not available, front camera fault, parking aid malfunction. First appeared on 3/24/2025 around 3,900 miles. Alerts appeared regularly until 9/16/2025, then stopped recording despite faults still occurring.
The rear camera has increasing failures. It goes to black multiple times while in reverse and takes a few seconds to get the image back. It is available for inspection upon request. It has put my safety and the safety at others at risk due to the sudden changes. There is a recall for other Ford models for the same thing. I think this recall needs to be expanded to include Escapes. There are no warning lights. It first happened a few years ago, but is increasing in frequency.
Camera keeps cutting out even in the middle of backing up.

Rear camera image is distorted in a manner probably similar to 25v-270 and 25v-272. This is one of the few vehicles where a flipping of the image or no display occurs on reverse.
1. Component or system failed •blind spot detection •cross-traffic alert •park aid sensors •forward collision assist •adas / ipma module •alert-history recording system 2. How safety was put at risk intermittent or missing adas warnings cause: •unsafe lane changes •missed hazards •loss of blind-spot awareness •loss of cross-traffic alerts •failure to record safety events these issues increase risk of side-impact collisions. 3. Reproduced or confirmed by dealer yes. Ford dealer and Ford engineering hotline confirmed the defects both before and after the module replacement. 4. Inspected by manufacturer yes. Ford field service engineers + Ford hotline inspected and escalated the case. 5. Warning lamps / messages •blind spot detection with cross traffic fault •park aid malfunction •forward collision assist unavailable •missing or incomplete alert-history logs.
The rear back up camera is malfunctioning/not working intermittently. Sometimes it works, and then glitches out and is gone, other times it is a completely black screen. This started approximately 4-6 weeks ago. It says "camera is unavailable. Please contact your dealership". I have since seen that 1. 5m Ford vehicles are being recalled for this exact issue, but my car is not on the list. I've called Ford and the dealership, and they've said I will have to have it diagnosed and pay out of pocket. It's oddly peculiar that this would be the same issue, and it just started at the same time of the recall. This has put others at risk because I cannot see them behind me, the car is not alerting me to people behind me, and I have gotten used to that function. I have to check to see if the camera is working, and then make sure to look behind, but even then it is hard to see. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone just yet. I am hesitant to take to dealer, as I will be without car for 2 days and have to pay the diagnostic fee, and potentially repair fee. There were no warning messages or other symptoms. One day it just started glitching.
1. Component or system failed: adas safety systems including blind spot detection, cross-traffic alert, front camera/ipma, pre-collision assist, and park aid. 2. How safety was put at risk: driving for months with intermittent or absent collision-avoidance systems, increasing risk of lane-change accidents and front-impact hazards. 3. Reproduced or confirmed by dealer: yes — dealership and engineers confirmed errors in June, July, August, and November. 4. Inspected by manufacturer: yes — Ford field service engineers were involved as early as June 2025. 5. Warning messages: • front camera fault • cross-traffic system fault • pre-collision assist not available • blind spot fault (recurring daily per my reports).
The rearview backup camera no longer functions at all. Upon putting the car in reverse, I receive a black screen with glitching colors for a few seconds that turns completely black and gives me an error stating rearview camera is unavailable. There has been no damage recently to the vehicle or any other modifications made, or no other known contributing events, it just stopped working on its own. I also received no warning prior to this happening from any systems in the vehicle. This is especially dangerous since I rely upon this camera and alert sensors to safely back up and avoid damage to my vehicle, myself, others, and surrounding objects. I am aware that several Ford models built the same year have an active recall for this exact issue, in addition to the 2023-2024 Escape models. I would highly recommend looking into this issue as it pertains to the 2022 Escape as well.

When the transmission gets warm, the car stops driving. It goes into all the gears fine. The vehicle has 102 thousand miles and I’m told the transmission needs to be replaced already. There are no recalls on the vehicle, but from what I have been reading, the Ford Escapes are known for transmission concerns. How is there no recall on the transmissions.

At any random time, all sensors fail. Blind spot systems, parking sensors, pre-collision assist, front camera fault, cross traffic system, cruise control, lane assist, auto headlights. Returned to the dealership multiple times, with no resolution. All sensors continue to fail, with no immediate fix available, according to Ford, until the fourth quarter. So, I am left with an unrepairable vehicle to drive in the already dangerous central texas traffic. The problem has been confirmed at leif johnson Ford, 501 e. Koenig, austin, TX 78751. Main #512-454-3711, service #512-454-3767, and reported to Ford care at 800-392-3673.

When I put my Escape in reverse, sometimes the rear view camera works and sometimes it doesnt.
The image in my reverse camera on my dashboard is upside down when I put the gearshift in reverse. Impossible to see if anything is behind me. I have not had it looked at yet by a dealership. Just began happening a few days ago. No warning lights at all came on. There are examples of this happening to other cars on youtube. Seems like a common but dangerous problem with certain Fords.
When I put the car in reverse the back up camera glitches. It freezes, flips upside down, turns black, sometimes all of those things. The beeping sound does not warn when objects are near when this is happening. It happens about 95% of the time. The camera is only functional about 5% of the time. Due to this issue I have been in several near accidents.
Backup camera is not working. Says to call dealership. Dealership says they dont know what is wrong with it. Safety hazard for backing up.
The vehicle's driver's door malfunctioned. It is available for inspection, but I paid to fix it earlier this week out of my pocket. It was confirmed by an auto body repair shop. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives. There was no warning lamps' messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The first time it occurred was early last year. It was fixed under the warranty manufacturer twice. The last time it was a week ago, but it was outside the warranty when that occurred. So I paid to fix.

1) head unit not powering up. No backup camera no cross traffic alert. 2) power train light has come on three times. Dealership is unable to find any issues 3) starting battery keeps failing. Fourth battery in three years getting installed today.
Engine check engine came on and found coolant low, refilled, and 2 weeks later coolant low again. I suspected coolant leaking into the engine since no coolant on the ground. Dealership confirmed this and said new engine block is required. It is a 2017 Escape with only 33,000 miles now. It is ridiculous that Ford knowingly went into production with this bad engine design which they redesigned later. I found out that there was a TSB to replace the engine block. Ford knows the engine is an issue and only fixed some of the vehicles as the issue happens. However, my SUV has no warranty and I was told engine replacement is not covered. This poses a risk to my daughter with the possibility of engine fire if coolant burns out, not to mention hesitation at lights while turning that can cause an accident. SUV is available for your inspection. I feel Ford issued a TSB to prevent a recall so they do not have to address problem with all the vehicle. Nhtsa should force this recall or force Ford to expand TSB to all affected vehicles with no limit. Communication with Ford dealership and Ford customer relations is available.

I order a nav upgrade from Ford $299, was unable to install it Ford said go to dealer, car was going to dealer for abs sensor bad and vehicle collision sensor bad, dealer fixed other two problems but couldnt upgrade nav and while dealer tried they killed the whole radio/sync/nav/handsfree turn the touch screen black and unresponsive. Now they want $1000 plus for apim replacement. I could live without the navigation update but now Ford's sync update killed my apim/sync/radio/handsfree and I cannot live without that.
Back up camera does not work. Screen either goes black or multitude of colors. Sometimes it flips to just see ground.
Steering assist fault sensor comes on which creates total loss of control of the wheel when driving placing anyone utilizing the road in danger as steering is not possible. Has occurred over 25 times. This was part of a recall and has been removed from being a recall now. Warning sensors go off randomly in the car all of the time and are inaccurate creating distractive driving for youth and has created dangerous situations. Dmv citation during driving test regarding the sensor malfunctions. Back-up camara broken, and trunk will not open or close in weather below 40 preventing use in late fall winter early spring.

Back over prevention ( backup camera), started acting up in Feb 2023, shows black screen, flips image, does not come on, (radio is displayed) when it does come on its granny and has black vertical lines, warning beeps stop working when this happens or don't sound off untill your on top of the person or object behing you. Contacted 2 Ford dealerships and they tell me other Escapes are on recall just not my year and no replacement camera is available.
Reoccurring simultaneous failures of safety systems "cross traffic system fault ", "blind spot system fault", complete climate panel failure (defroster, heater, ventilation, . . . ), accompanying failures of power windows, power seats and most recently the ability to open the rear hatch of the SUV. Warnings about intermitent "drive mode not available". All of the above can occur suddenly when driving or at starting. Windows fog suddenly.
First, my car had not a drop of antifreeze after driving two hours. Secondly, a week later, I was driving home routinely and began to drive forward when my car’s rpm’s went up very high and the car would not move as I was on a busy highway. Strangely, the vehicle had just had the transmission recall repair for the transmission bushing shifting cable a few weeks earlier. So although we he car was in drive it was not shifting. I turned the car off and on. Then the car did the same thing again and a message stating “transmission service” appeared on the dash board. I had to jump out of the car and run to the side of the road for safety as I broke down on a busy highway near my home. It was very scary.

I have a 2020 Ford Escape that was not included in the recall 20c19/20v575, however my vehicle has been having the issue. Ford dealerships and the Ford customer support were not helpful and said they couldn't fix the issue since my specific vehicle was not included in the recall, even though my vehicle is having the same issue. They directed me to file a complaint here in order to be added to the recall.
I've brought my car in to the 4 dealership in detroit lakes and they charge me a 150 bucks to tell me that there's nothing wrong with my rear rear camera but it goes in-and-out and then like the a warning will come on and say that the transmission is in park when it when it's clearly in reverse but then the rear view camera goes out and then it will just come back but Ford says it's nothing you know and I can't even update my car or my Ford's sync mytouch whatever cause they tell me it might mess up the whole car.
Apim is currently inoperative - no rear camera view. No power to the unit.
Repeatedly the dashboard flashes "cross traffic system fault", "blind spot system fault", "blind spot left/right sensor fault" occasionally "cannot access memory while driving". The lower center display panel on the instrument panel goes completely black. The problem occurs intermittently, but when it starts it is more or less continuous for long periods of time. Ford (demontrond Ford) has now worked on the problem at least six times.
My vehicle has been in the shop (northgate Ford) so many times and they said that there's nothing wrong. The service manager went out with us and saw it wasn't working properly. My car isn't safe to drive as the lane keeping system tried taking me off the road so many times. The dealership wants me to trade my car in and I said absolutely not. I don't want anyone killed because of the problems with this vehicle.
My Escape cross traffic alert system only works half the time and yesterday it didn't work at all. It's been at northgate Ford so many times for this problem but it's still not fixed.
On Sep 02, 2020 I was sold a-2020 Ford Escape by bolivar Ford ,bolivar, TN 38008. I was not told by the salesman that the car had a open safety recall and should not have been sold to me until the recall was fix. When I test drove the car I notice the camera would work some time and other time it would not. I have received a recall letter from Ford but they said that the parts were not available to fix the camera . It is very unsafe when backing up when the backup camera is not working.
