Sunroof will not close and every time it rains it leaks so much to the point that it’s going to cause more electrical issues. I will not take this back to the randy marion dealership in west jefferson nc they also sold me this car with a bad transmission which ended back up in the shop for 3 plus months. They were completely incompetent about handling the situation. So I will not go back to them. Also they sold this cat with seatbelts that are so lose if I were to have a wreck I would probably go through the windshield. They didn’t want to repair that without me handling the bill.

The passenger side seat belt anchor bolt which fastens the bottom of the seat belt to the vehicle failed. The anchor bolt rotted on the interior of the vehicle. We had no warning of any kind. Vehicle was taken to dealer where we purchased it and looked at. This is when we were informed that this failure would not be covered by any type of warranty. We were informed that the vehicle was past it's base warranty and that the extended warranty, which we purchased, would not cover the seat belt. Luckily this failed in the morning when my wife was leaving to take our daughter to school and go to work, so the vehicle was not in motion. We contacted Ford numerous times and were informed that the seat belt would not be covered.

The cars electrical system has failed multiple times while driving leading to no headlights , brake lights and all other electrical components. We have had vehicle serviced by multiple different mechanics including Ford dealership however problem persists shortly after repair each time. Vehicle does not display any forewarning of failure such as no check engine lights or any indication that anything is wrong. All services and inspections show nothing is wrong however vehicle service records show electrical system and battery serviced/changed multiple time due to reoccurring problem. Manufacturer says that our VIN is not included in the recall however vehicle has all same issues as recalls from may 2014 to July 2015 . Vehicle was manufactured April 04,2015. How are vehicle does not fall under any of these recalls is beyond my understanding , at this point in time vehicle does not run due to multiple mechanics being unable to pin point or fix electrical issues. Would like vehicle reinspected for any of these recalls and car fixed and safe to drive.
Seatbelt on the passenger side did not stop me from hitting the dash board and the air bags did not deploy. Was rearend while waiting to get off an of ramp.
The car shakes while the car is in idle. The car displays an illuminated crossed out child car seat and the word “on”. These two alerts do not turn off. Even though there is no one seated in a back and two adults are seated in the front seats. It also leaks fluid. I have an appointment with a Ford dealer this Tuesday and I already contacted the Ford corporate office. #*******.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 mph, the "rear belt monitor fault service" message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was unknown.

The backseat passenger side seat belt locked up. The seat belt pulls out, but it will not retract without being forced in. This means I cannot have a passenger in this seat, because they would not be properly restrained if an accident were to occur. There have been no accidents with my vehicle to have caused this malfunction, but it is a serious issue. I had it examined by the dealership that sold it to me (ray skillman in avon), and I was told that while it is a common issue it is not covered under warranty or on recall. I was also told that it could be months until the part would get in, because it still has to be ordered from Ford and it is so common that the part is on back order. I was not aware of this until I had a passenger in the backseat (still a new car to me since I bought it used with no accidents reported on it and the dealership does not check the seatbelts prior to sale of vehicles, only the engine), and they pointed it out to me. It is available for inspection upon request.
The seatbelt shoulder strap will lock and will not unlock unless you release the buckle. We came out one morning and had no power steering it is equipped with electronic power assist the dealer said that there were no recalls for this particular condition. I found out from a shop that I used to work for that there were. My wife cannot drive the vehicle in this condition via surgurey. Thanks for listenig.

Driver seat belt jams up and will not unlock at times while out. I am often left stuck in the vehicle. At time's the seat belt will not lock into place when starting my vehicle to leave. I often have to drive with no seat belt because I don't lock at times and other times I don't feel safe in the seat belt. The dealership have not provided a fix and believe this is a defect that needs attention.

Fmvss 208 has a lockability standard. The outboard seatbelts in this vehicle do not switch over to a locked mode for car seats as required by law, I have video I can send on the seatbelts. The video would not attach to this report.
"passenger side seatbelt pretension and retractor assembly internally faulted:" this caused the seat belt light to be illuminated. This was repaired free of charge by the dealership.
When folding down the rear seats to expand storage seatbelt buckles can become crushed, even when doing so per the manual's direct instructions, rendering the rear restraint system useless.
Drivers side seat belt retractor or pretensioner does not work. You have to physically push the seat belt back into place. I feel if I were to get in an accident the seat belt would not help me. The vehicle only has 65,400 miles on it. I feel this is unacceptable and Ford should fix this as a safety issue. The dealer gave a estimate to fix this problem and I believe their estimate is unacceptable at $535 for parts and labor.

Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? yes insurance and police were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no nothing was on the dash prior to crash.
Puting car into reverse on 2way road to turn around car wouldn't go in reverse or forwards car shut off. Had to keep brake on kept shifting back and forth till car turned on had traffic stopped both ways. Seatbelt released not working at all. If car would of gone forwards upon started would of gone over cliff. This happened about 2nd week in July. Currently car has trouble upon driving shifting into gear. Please advise. Dangerous.

The front passenger seat belts do not lock during hard braking. Seats belts fail to lock and engage. This is a very serious safety issues. If we were to get into an accident I fear the possible damage during impact.
The owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The vehicle stated while in traffic at approximately 30 mph the driver behind contact rear-ended her. The contact stated the seat belt's pretensioners did work, and the air bag deploy. The contact stated the compact of the accident caused her head to hit the steering wheel. There was damage to the front bumpers and grill and rear of the vehicle, but it was drivable. The police arrived on the scene. There was a police report filed. The paramedics arrived on the scene and sent a contact to the emergency. The hospital diagnosed injury to the nose, neck, and bruises. The contact received mri and cat scans. The vehicle failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number 14v597000 (air bags, seat belts). The approximate failure mileage was 99,000.
After purchasing SUV the back seatbelt buckle popped while holding carseat. Second incident while driving car shut off and radio made a popping noise electrical issues stored happening radio went out electrical functions won’t stay positioned back camera is blinking on an off upside down.
Front left tower rod is going thru the wheel well from rust. This can cause major damage to myself, occupants, and the lives of others outside of the vehicle. The front left seatbelt light continuously alarms as if it is not connected. Is it? the back lights are always out not sure to replacement repeatedly. I'd the seatbelt good enough in an accident, I am not trying to find that it either. The lights are a ticket every time and are another hazard to other motorist. The main wheel rust was told to me upon a failed inspection. It is not fixed at this point just found out and looking for recalls but found many with the same exact hazard. The warning lights go off every minute and a half while driving in the dashboard. This has been since I purchased the vehicle last year. The same goes for replacing the back running light. I don't know if the auto place was aware of these problems, but I'm positive the were just trying to move the vehicle if the lot at this point. The repairs are more than half of the cost just for the wheel rust hazard.

I rented this Ford Escape from avis this month and ran into what could have been an incredibly dangerous safety issue due to a massive oversight in the car's design. I installed a small booster seat in the passenger side back seat for my 10 year-old son. He got in the seat and attached his seat belt, which he has done hundreds of times before in our own car. About 1 hour into a 2-hour freeway trip, a notification went off on the dashboard, telling me that a seat belt in the back had come undone. My son tried frantically to reattach the buckle but was unable. I had to exit the freeway and park on the side of the road. When I tried to reattach the buckle, I saw why there was a problem: he had inserted the buckle into the center receptacle, not the passenger-side one. The receptacle didn't click, as it was probably designed not to do, but because the metal of the buckle has a slight angle to it, there was enough tension for it to temporarily hold. However even a minor accident could have been fatal because my son wasn't property strapped in. There are several issues here. First, the dash indicator should have been designed to tell me that there was weight on the right rear seat but no buckle was attached to that receptacle. Second, the center receptacle did not immediately reject the right-most buckle; instead, the bent angle of the buckle's metal temporarily held it in place and made my 10 year-old believe he was strapped in. Finally, the receptacles themselves have no play from side-to-side. This, plus the angle of the buckle's metal, means that when a booster seat is installed, there is not enough room to fully attach the buckle into the receptacle without exerting a lot of force to push the receptacle to the left. I can't imagine the buckle can be attached at all with a larger child seat. The image I attached shows why this is; attaching a car seat requires exerting enough force to bend the metal holding the receptacle in order to attach the buckle.
In my 2013 Escape, the driver's side seatbelt would no longer retract back in place on its own- and while driving it would not retract properly, usually staying loose and laying on my lap while buckled. The passenger side seatbelt would not fit snug around the passenger either. Both front seatbelts would not restrain anyone in the event of braking hard. I took it in for repair to fred bean's Ford in exton, PA. It was unsafe to drive the car because both the driver and passenger would fly forward when the brakes were pushed hard- no restraining at all from either seatbelt. The dealership charged me over $1200 to install a new part called a pretensioner in both seatbelts. I saved my receipt.
Airbag light on/ flashing. Shop says "passenger side seat belt retractor assembly" needs replaced. I switched it with a known working part, didn't fix the issue. Upon further research I found that it is a known issue. Source: [xxx] April 1, 2011 manufacturer communication number: sis-21841 components: air bags, electrical system NHTSA id number: 10038965 manufacturer communication number: sis-21841 summary: comm-trans lund: some 2009-2011 models may have the air bag inicator flashing with a stored trouble code. This is a software problem. I have contacted both local dealerships, as well as Ford corporate. The remedy they all 3 offered: take it in for diagnostics (I'm already fully aware of the issue) which will cost me around $300, then they will tell me if there's even a possibly solution. They were completely unwilling to tell me if they could fix the software issue without first paying for their diagnostic service, even though it's a known and recorded issue, with the NHTSA id number: 10038965 as well as the manufacturer communication number: sis-21841. Upon researching complaints, I have found that I am by far not the only person who has this exact issue. Note: "date of incident" is when I purchased the vehicle, mileage is the mileage at the time of purchase, it has had the light on since before that date and mileage. I tried to resolve this issue then, and recently have been trying again, in hopes that there has been a fix found finally, to no avail. Tl- the contact owned a 2012 Ford Escape. The contact stated that her husband was driving at 20-35 mph, when he choked on food and passed out, which then caused the vehicle to hit a telephone pole. The contact stated that she was seated in the front passenger side seat and the seat belt did not tightened to stop her from going forward towards the dashboard during the collision. The contact and her husband received medical attention and were transported by ambulance to the hospital. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a towing lot and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The dealer car-mart of north little rock (6601 warden rd, sherwood, ar 7212) was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000. Tp.

The front driver and front passenger seat belts are not retracting properly. I did a search online for other models of this year and many people are having issues with this. Please investigate this as this is a safety issue.
Vehicle is only four years old and drivers side seat belt retracts slowly. I also own a 2010 Ford Escape with the same problem. The seat belt ends up getting slammed in the door which I am sure is eventually going to compromise the integrity of the belt. This has been going on for a few months.
The driver side seat belt will not latch. Also, the left back door will not open.
The rear seat belt buckle (driver side) is not holding the belt, damaged.
Drivers seatbelt doesn't latch properly. I have to keep pullin the seat buckle in and out several times until it finally latches. This occurs pretty much every time I put on the seatbelt. Down below I had to select a date wouldn't let me go back further than Jan. But this has been going on several months since last year. I got the car used in Jul 2020.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The contact stated the driver's side seat belt failed to lock and or retract. There were no warning lights illuminated. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mleage was 87,000. The contact stated seat belts should be covered for a lifetime. Ap.
The community I live is landlocked (juneau, alaska) and the one Ford dealership closed its doors a year and half later; since this time there is still not Ford dealership or authorized Ford garage in the juneau area to correct these six recalled items - Ford tells my I have to take it to dealer myself, however the cost to transport the 2014 Escape would cost in the thousands in transportation cost. I've called Ford several times over the years, and refused to send to send a technician or offer a local repair shop to fix these recalled items; some of recalled items are pretty serious (possible engine fire, and transmission slipping in or out gear). Please help as I try to get Ford to fix, but they offer nothing more expensive cost to me for defective product. Thank you, chris salazar.
Front passenger seatbelt does not hold person back when breaks are firmly pressed. Passenger continues to go forward and seatbelt does nothing to hold passenger back, if I were in a crash my passenger would go right through the window. The lap belt does stay in place, however the belt that goes from across the chest to shoulder does not tighten to hold my passenger secure.
