The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who discovered that rainwater had leaked into the trunk and spare tire well, causing mold and mildew to develop inside the vehicle. The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. The contact stated that after he opened the front driver’s side door, he heard a clicking sound upon closing the door. The contact then stated that he noticed that the front driver’s side door hinge had detached from the door and the door welds had fractured. Additionally, the contact stated that he had to hold the front driver’s side door while driving to his residence. The contact then stated that he had to dismantle the front driver’s side door to be able to safely drive the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the door needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle mileage was over the warrant and provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000. Door Hinge problem #3

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. The contact stated that while opening the front driver's side door, the door made an abnormal metallic sound. Additionally, the contact stated that the door failed to close as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the door check arm spot welds were fractured. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
