: the contact stated while driving 70 mph on dry roads the two driver's side tires blew out within two hours of one another. There were no warning signals prior to the incident. Upon inspection of the other tires the contact noticed tires over inflated and bulged. When a service dealer was consulted, they were unable to provide assistance. The vehicle manufacturer was also contacted, and they were unable to provide assistance. When the tire manufacturer was contacted they determined those were the wrong tires for this type of truck. At 62 mph, my left rear tire developed a large bulge (approximately 12" in diameter) on the tread area which extended into the sidewall approximately 4". The truck shook violently and I pulled off the road. The tread never separated from the tire carcass. I believe it would have separated if I had not stopped immediately. My vehicle is a 2001 Ford Excursion with a diesel engine. The tires- firestone steeltex lt265/75r16- are original with 35,850 miles on them. I check tire pressure weekly and keep it at 60psi for these tires. They have never lost air in the 12 months I have owned the vehicle.

While driving at low speeds a vibration was noticeable. Vechile had tendency to pull to the left. Stopped and checked tire pressure of both front tires. Pressure of both front tires was 62psi hot. Stopped a walmart service to have balance checked. Right tire had a bulge where the tread was separating from tire. Tire has been maintained at manufacturer recommended pressure. Remaining tread depth was 11/32.
