Windshield Problems of Ford Excursion

The windshield on my Excursion cracked along the bottom from the heat and cold about 3'' up along the whole length of the windshield. This happened to my sons 2001 f250 same way. There was no reason as nothing hit the window.

About one year ago, my son through a small pebble at the rear side window of my Ford Excursion. The window shattered. The auto glass mechanic said he though the glass was faulty. Ford would not pay. A week ago, I shut the rear window of my truck and the glass shattered. Again, Ford refused to repair it. This time, there was no rock involved. The glass is defective. I've read on the internet that since the truck was hurting Ford's "green" rating, they decided to use the black plastic from 2-liter soda bottles to manufacture the Excursion's glass to make it more friendly to the environment.

Consumer states the passenger windshield broke twice. With out any reason. Dealer has been notified. Please provide further information. . Ts.

Windshield cracked when sprayed with cold water while washing vehicle, when new windshield was installed installer said he had seen other s. D. Ford trucks with same problem seems lack of silicone adhesive allows glass to come in contact with frame and can allow glass to be "etched" by frame and weakens area. All trucks are manufactured at same plant.
