Blown Head Gasket problems of the 1998 Ford Expedition

Two problems related to blown head gasket have been reported for the 1998 Ford Expedition. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Blown Head Gasket problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2004

Without warning vehicle stalled. Consumer had to coast off the road. Consumer had the vehicle towed to the dealer, and mechanic determined that engine head gasket failed, causing the engine to malfunction. Both head gasket blew and needed to be replaced.

2 Blown Head Gasket problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2001

While driving on freeway consumer heard a loud pop in vehcile, and then vehicle started to shake. Consumer took vehicle to the dealer, and dealer noted that head gasket had blowen out.
