One problem related to tank filler pipe and cap has been reported for the 1999 Ford Expedition. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While filling up vehicle with gas and upon reaching 11 gallons, nozzle exploded, injuring consumer. Fire department was called, and they said that since nozzle was plastic and not medal, it had nothing to grind out on. Plastic createed electricity, a spark of electricity like if somone shocked an individual, that set off explosion.
