1 Starter Solenoid problem

The contact owns a 2000 Ford Expedition. While driving approximately 10 mph during rainy weather, all electrical components turned off and then back on. The failure usually occurred in rainy and snowy weather; the doors would lock and the passenger was unable to get out of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that the vehicle may have been struck by lightening but could not duplicate the failure. The contact also stated that weather leaked into the vehicle through the driver side window. The battery was dead and had to be jump started. A friend changed the solenoid and the vehicle started without the key in the ignition. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000 and the current mileage was approximately 98,000.
