1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2022

I gave a friend a ride to wal mart in my 2001 Expedition to buy some power steering fluid, luckily I parked over by the automotive section. I turned it off and waited in vehicle till he returned, about 7 or 8 minutes. I started the engine, grabbed the brake and dropped it in reverse when engine revved sending us backwards completely out of control with both feet on the brakes, spinning rear wheels and I turned ignition key off as quick as possible but violently slammed into a truck semitrailer only, parked alongside wal mart tire shop. Completely totalled out the entire rear passenger liftback, taillights, tailgate, rear hatch window, left rear luever window, left tailpipe, tow hitch package and rear bumper. With only min. Coverage, I'm now w/o a vehicle after completely replacing entire front and rear suspension, steering and tires plus alignment less than 6 months prior, with 275000 miles. Thank you very much Ford motor CO. This was not an issue of driver error !. . I will find a way to legally hold you responsible for my loss, making Ford liable for repairing or replacing my vehicle ! this happened on Aug 29th, 2022 approx. 4pm at wal mart property, in ukiah, CA. 95482.

While my two year old daughter and I were sitting in the vehicle (vehicle was off) a passerby knocked on the window informing me that my car was on fire. 7 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2012

Vehicle was havin jerkin issues and check engine light was on, took to shop and it was about to blow out the spark plug, I was lucky and caught it and got it replaced but I have done research and seen that many others haven't been and that this is an ongoing issue. My next problem was acceleration, the gas pedal accelerated and cause me to crash into another vehicle and the vehicle fled the scene, there was no major injuries but 4 kids were in the vehicle and are now scared to even ride with me. Mental stress is a major injury in my concern cause it hurts my heart to know my own children are scared that I wont protect them. My third problem is that just yesterday we parked on the side of the side of the road and the vehicle died and wont start, talked to mechanics and they say 01 Fords have this problem, we now have a broke down vehicle and not too sure what the defect has caused more problems to be worse. Due to the defect now the starter solenoid is out and we are unsure if possibly even the fuel pump. Ford knows of all these complaints from other owners and has done nothing. Just in my family I have 2 others that have the same vehicle and have had the same problems, why is it that Ford is not doing anything about these defects that can cause major accidents and injuries???.

8 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/18/2012

I am having various electrical issues ranging from check engine light going on periodically with codes not stored when checked, on, dome light in the car not turn on when driver door opened, radio not working when key is in on position, dash lights go off intermittently. One night during a very heavy rain storm the alarm went off and we were unable to disable for over 30 mins. Had to remove the battery for the beeping to stop. When we checked the next day, inside the vehicle was a puddle of water on the dashboard & droplets were coming from the top drivers side of the windshield. Also noticed that water was streaming down from inside a handle on the frame by side of the windshield on driver side. Unaware of global windshield/seal issues with Ford we proceeded to have the windshield replaced. At the time we were unaware of any additional damage. Shortly after while driving we began to experience various episodes of the car revving itself up, as if it was in control of its own speed, making it difficult to control the car. During these episodes of acceleration the car temperature & oil gauges registered at overheated levels & many times the dash lights would go off. In this case I pulled over and turned the car off. After a couple of minutes when I turned the car on, the car was back to normal as if nothing had happened. Typically when this happened although the check engine light was lit, when I took the car in to be serviced by the dealer I was told no error codes were stored in the vehicle. This vehicle continues to self accelerate and rev up intermittently. At present I need to have the car smogged for renewal but the vehicle system readiness test register incomplete and there are no faulty codes listed. I have read that various owners experience these conditions which has been caused by water leak into the fuse box and the gem due to the windshield seal failure.

My SUV occasionally accelerates when the rpms are low I. E. When idling at a light or coming to a slow stop. I have not had an accident or injury yet but I have taken it to the dealer a couple of times when it was still under warranty but they said they could find nothing wrong with it. 34 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2002

New 2001 Expedition. Started lurching forward in 2002. This happens when I was parking in the garage, the foot is not touching any of the pedals its coasting very very slowly cause your going to put your foot on the break to stop. All of a sudden it lunges forward at the same time radio goes louder and the air conditioner or heater speeds up, its like a power serge. It has taken a while to figure that out, it happens so fast and is not predictable. When it does happen like last week it had been months, I had completely forgot about it. I was in the driveway parking by our chevy truck and almost hit it. One time in the beginning it happened at a stop light I almost hit the car in front of me but I always have a few feet in front of me. However if I was at stop light and a pedestrian was walking across and this happened , I'm sure it would hit them cause they don't always walk between the white lines. In 2002 I did take the truck into Ford dealer they ran a test and it didn't acted up on them they said that until it would do it for them they couldn't fix it. So now my son will be driving next year if the problem isn't fixed we will have to get rid of it . It is a nice SUV and we wanted to have it for at least 200,000 miles.

35 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2002

Dealer said there is nothing they can do it's unsafe to drive. Can cause a very serious accident wife is affair to drive. Dt.
