1 Tire Sidewall problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2007

On 10/20/07, the sidewall of my goodyear fortera (right rear) failed. My wife lost pressure and had to aaa change the tire. Goodyear stated (la quinta dealer) the tire was damage by a unknown object. On 10/26/07, I was driving driving when the left rear tire failed. I pulled over and changed the tire. I later had the tire inspected and the inner sidewall separated and appeared to be the same size and detail of the previous tire failure. When I took it to the goodyear dealer (cedar city ut) they told me that I had driven on the tire too long and I caused the damage. I was lucky, I immediately pulled over and changed the tire before I lost all air pressure. There was "no damage" on the tire due to my driving. The damage tire failure was about a 4-5 inch rectangular shape hole. The second tire began the same way. The sidewall began to separate in the same fashion and had not "blown out" prior to me changing it.

2 Tire Sidewall problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2005

: the contact stated that the tires on the vehicle have cracks all the way around the tread and up the sidewall. The tires were purchased when the vehicle had 88000 miles on it, and the cracks were observed when the vehicle reached 108000 miles. The tires were taken to the service retailer for repair who determined the cracks were a result of normal wear and tear.

3 Tire Sidewall problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2005

I drive a 2004 Ford Expedition eb with contential contitrac SUV p265r70 17 tires. Dec 2004 (2) two of the tires had to be replaced due to cracks/tears in the sidewalls, the vehicle had 17k miles . At that time I was told my other tires are fine. I have 22k miles on the vehicle now, and a tire has developed cracks and "chips" and the connection between sidewall and tread. These tires are a serious problem waiting to hurt the public.

4 Tire Sidewall problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2004

In February 2004, we purchased an expedtion from world Ford in stone mountain, georgia. The vehicle has 8100 miles to date. On June 6, 2004, at approximate 3:00 pm, my children and I were enroute to a birthday party and a tire (rear right) blew out. I was in the middle of the freeway during major traffic and had to travel less than 1/2 mile to get over and off. I called my husband who came to pick the children and me up. On Monday, June 7, we went to world Ford to talk with them about the matter and was told that the tires that came standard with the truck was not under warranty with them. We explained that when we purchased the vehicle, we were not informed of any outside warranties. They recommended that we go to national tire and battery to have them call the manufacturer. We traveled to ntb and was told by ntb that they have nothing to do with world Ford's custom tire package and could not help us. After going around the world, we finally reached the manufacturer and was told to take it to tires plus. Now we are waiting for tire plus to inform us that continental will replace the tire.
