1 Frame And Members problem

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Expedition. The contact was at a state inspection station and the vehicle was failed due to a rust holes on the passenger’s side front subframe behind the front suspension, directly under a reinforcement plate. The contact stated that the entire reinforcement plate and the frame rail behind the plate had rusted through rendering the vehicle unsafe. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and the rusted frame section was replaced. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 238,000.
