Seat Belt problem #1

The vehicle will switch gears while travels ng at 70 miles per hour. I immediately pull to side and have to stop automobile and restart. The dash shows motor and check engine. At this time the passenger seat belt will not remain latched. The air conditioner has stopped working. My spouse is a mechanic and checked the plug below the glove compartment. The plug receiver (not sure what it's called ) had a whole melted in bottom of female and of plug.

No safety seat belt warning light and indicator chime when adult setting in the passenger set without seat belt fastened. Vehicle engine on, transmission in drive. The drivers side warning light and indicator chime works correctly as you would expect it to. The vehicle has operated this way from the day we purchased the vehicle approximately 33 days ago and it now has 2800 miles.
