Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problems of the 2016 Ford Expedition

While driving on a city street, my brake pedal lost resistance and went to the floor. I discovered that the brake fluid reservoir was empty. I was able to get the vehicle to a local dealership because the back brakes were functioning. I discovered that this was a common occurrence for the 2016 Ford f150 (that has been recalled because of the master brake cylinder) and was becoming a common occurrence the 2016 Ford Expedition. It seems that both model share the same part. The local Ford dealer diagnosed the problem and replaced the master brake cylinder and booster assemblies. The repair was delayed about a week because the "recalled" master brake cylinder model was ordered in error and the new model would take a few days to get in. I found that to be a strange comment when there is not information related to a recall for the 2016 Ford Expedition.
