Hatchback/liftgate Lock Problems of Ford Expedition

The contact owns a 2023 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that the liftgate failed to open with the key fob remote or manually. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the sensor was inoperable. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

I own a 2005 Ford Expedition. On several occassions, when I stop the car, the glass (only) on the rear liftgate pops open automatically. If there is anything in the back of the vehicle (person or thing) it could possibly fall out of the back of the vehicle. I was wondering if others had reported this problem and if it should be looked into for recall. Latest incident was 07/03/07.

2001 Ford Expedition. The back door has two hydraulic lifts to hold the door open. One on driver's side broke loose from the vehicle. After inspection they found the other lift was welded in six places, and this one was only welded in one place. Consumer took the vehicle to the dealership and they stated it is not under warranty. The manufacturer also states this is not under warranty, and it will cost $435 to fix. The door could no longer be used, it will not stay open.
