Hair gets stuck in the platinum emblem on the seat.
The seats have metal emblems on them that pull your hair. It is not safe to be driving and have something pull your hair. It hurts!.
Front seats have metal "platinum" badges at about shoulder level. Badges have gap between badge and seat surface. Longer hair (below neck/ shoulder length or longer or hair in pony tail) gets trapped between badge and seat. This condition causes hair to be pulled and/or cut off. It's a painful distraction while driving and also when trapped, impairs head movement while vehicle is in motion. Tried to reach out to Ford, but being ignored. May cause a collision and it causing personal injury repeatedly. Date of incident recorded in this form is inaccurate in that it has not happened just once - rather it happens every day the vehicle is in use, repeatedly. We put this issue out on facebook and it appears many consumers are having the same problem. Its not isolated. It's a design defect affecting all vehicles with this badge. Very poor design to incorporate a pinch point and cutting edge into a seating surface. Drivers or front seat passengers with short hair may not be affected. Everyone else is.
Was rear ended on highway and both driver and passenger seats upon impact where laid back.

3rd row seat has metal frame coming through cushion. Had seat cushion replaced once. Ford technician said was design flaw in vehicle and issue will continue to happen. Just had vehicle in again for same issue but Ford will not replace cushion this time because they confirmed other like vehicles are having same issue and deeming is a normal condition. This is a huge safety issue for my children. This is not a normal condition to have a cushion fall through and the metal seat frame is exposed.

The transmission seems to be missing gears and shifting violently at weird times, completely losing transmission engagement and randomly shifting into neutral when acceleration pedal is engaged at a higher speed on the highway and then the vehicle will all of the sudden try to shift back into gear violently at moments of high speed acceleration. It has issues finding the gear sometimes completely disengaging into neutral and a crackling popcorn sound coming from front passenger side under the car. The headrest in the third row, driver side is permanently, flipped down and gaged into the back of the head of the passenger, possibly resulting in a life-threatening injury during an accident the information screenshot of vehicle in the front, which displays all of the apps, air, music, sometimes randomly is blank, black screen with no power.

The vehicle was parked when we heard a loud popping noise. I then saw white powder and smelled a horrible smell. Upon inspection the passenger seat side panel had popped open. It seemed like an airbag had deployed. I had a restraint indicator light on at that point. It was taken to a Ford dealership where they told me it couldn’t have been an airbag it was just a faulty seatbelt sensor. Which by the way there was a recall for that exact thing on the 2020 but, not the 2019 so 750$ later. . They’re going to fix it.

On July 24th 2023, at approximately 2:15pm my wife and I were completely stopped at a red traffic light on 66th st n that crosses ulmerton rd in pinellas county florida. We were talking and listening to the radio, when all of a sudden, a loud shotgun or explosive sound filled the vehicle. I got hit with something in the chest that felt like a punch or a kick, knocking me out of breath. But my wife only heard the extremely loud noise. I was clutching my chest in pain as I thought I was shot. When the light turned green, I immediately pulled into a dunkin donuts parking lot, and we exited the vehicle. There was no damage whatsoever on the inside and outside of the vehicle, but we smelled gun powder. My driver's seatbelt was stuck in the retracted position. I slowly drove to my home at 6500 30th avenue n, st petersburg, FL 33710. I immediately called the pinellas county sheriff's department to report the incident, because at the time I thought it was a gunshot. They have a record under my phone number. I had no idea what the loud gun sound was, so I started to research and found the driver's seat belt tensioner charge must have gone off. I called auto nation Ford and made an emergency appointment to bring the vehicle in. I explained everything to them, then dropped the vehicle off. Upon doing a full inspection, the auto nation Ford mechanic determined there was a factory short in the air bag circuit, which caused the seatbelt tensioner charge to explode. They found the location, under the center console & replaced all necessary wiring, sensors, modules, tensioner & seatbelt. I researched and found recalls for 2020 Expeditions and 2018 f150 pickups, but there was no recall for the 2019 Expedition. I can't imagine what would have happened if we were going fast on an interstate when it happened. Now I get in my 2 Ford vehicles and worry about it happening again. T turned out the kick in the chest was the seatbelt retracting 4 inches pulling me back in the seat.

The 2nd row captain's chair track became broken and the seat is stuck on the track, in the forward most position. The seats can lift off the track to allow passengers to easily access the 3rd row. The seat, if the button is pushed, becomes stuck forward and needs to be manually released. Malloy Ford of winchester va is the dealership that has looked at this defect and determined it to be a warrantied repair. They will not comment on my safety concerns. I have reached out to Ford motor CO with the same, silent response about safety. Parts are unavailable, according to them.
Recalls fixed 11/15/2022 on my 2017 Ford Expedition. I purchased in March 2018 after picking up my Ford from winner Ford, dover DE yesterday 11/15/2022 I realized my backup camera screen is fuzzy, the stopped working before I even left the premises. In 2022 Ford recalled Expedition backup carmera camera with distorted screens but not for 2017. I have had 2 batteries. There has to be an electrical problem. My remote start stopped working in 0ctober 2022 after the recalls were fixed but my keyfob can still lock and unlock, my driver power seat does not move when started or turning off, my doors will not lock using the door buttons, when I open my drivers door there's and alarm as if there's a light on or a malfunction. Fordpass sync will not update to the system to newest version and my Ford. I have Ford connected service on my Ford pass app.

Ford Expedition was travelling at 50-60km/hr while passing an emergency vehicle on a highway. The Expedition was struck from behind by a utility van travelling around 110km/hr. Both front seats slid forward and also reclined on impact. This caused both front passengers to sustain bruising on their calf's due to the seats sliding forward and whiplash from both front seats reclining. Both front seats trapped children in their car seats in the 2nd row form being reclined. No air bags deployed in the accident as well!.

Child in a car seat in second row captain's chair. Child was able to hit button that collapses seat forward - all while the car was moving (on a highway at 65 mph) and child was in car seat in seat. This is extremely dangerous. See pictures. People buy large vehicles like Expeditions mainly because of use with children. As soon as that button is hit, the seat collapses and the car seat belt places enormous pressure on a child. I would hate to imagine what would happen if the seat was released and a car accident occurred at the same time. I have already contacted Ford to make a complaint but wanted to raise the issue here as well. Please investigate. I contacted my dealership and they confirmed the same thing happened in a Expedition model still on the lot. This is not a single car issue. Every 2019 Expedition with captain's chairs is likely to have the same issue.
Both front seats have reclined by themselves when getting in the vehicle.
The vehicle will switch gears while travels ng at 70 miles per hour. I immediately pull to side and have to stop automobile and restart. The dash shows motor and check engine. At this time the passenger seat belt will not remain latched. The air conditioner has stopped working. My spouse is a mechanic and checked the plug below the glove compartment. The plug receiver (not sure what it's called ) had a whole melted in bottom of female and of plug.

When I purchased the car we noticed that the carpet in the driver wheel well was cut short. At that time it did not cause a hazard but over time and many visits to the dealer it has folded over it itself and is becoming dangerous. Ford has looked at it several times and acknowledged it as a problem but said that since it is after the warranty period, they will not fix it. This can pose a very dangerous situation and asking that Ford make the repair. Also the panel on the side of the char is falling off and is posing a hazard too. The dealer said he has seen this often and seems to be a problem. Ford is not willing to fix it either.

The vehicle head rest is permanently tilted forward and cant be adjusted. This presents an uncomfortable and unsafe condition when operating the vehicle for long periods of time. In order to get some type of relief during extended driving periods the seat has to be tilted back, which could create another unsafe position.

2004 Ford Expedition; had original tires put back on vehicle after have authorized tires removed. Factory tires had approximately 300 miles on them. Severe vibration in front end of car before and after factory tires were reinstalled. Paid to have two 4-wheel alignments, balancing on both sets of tires (factory and Ford authorized upgrades) in two months. Ford could not find any issues with the front end of the vehicle". Vibration exists with less than 1000 total miles on the factory tires. Was told that they could not be balanced and that I needed to contact the manufacturer. Second incident the leather material on the seats has cracked and hardened. When sitting, it begins to poke and scratch and cause irritation to the skin. Ford will replace part of the leather, but refuses to replace all of it because "the damage is not bad enough".
A metal rod on the front of my Ford Expedition's driver's seat poked through the exterior leather/fabric and caused me to gash my leg as I sat down on the driver's seat.
