1 Warnings problem of the 2024 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 06/12/2025

I was in a car accident on June 12, 2025, and my steering wheel airbag did not deploy correctly or function correctly. It was a front in straightforward collision. I did not have warning signs so my brakes could have been an issue because I was paying attention and unable to avoid an accident going under the speed limit. The rear cross traffic. Warning stays on pretty consistently because we live down a dirt road, and every time it rains, it again comes back on. I do not believe I heard the forward collision detection go off either. When I hit the back of a work convoy truck straight on, my steering wheel airbag did not deploy correctly. It did come out it never inflated. It did not protect me. I do not have any broken bones, but I do have a hematoma right beside my under arm, and a great deal of bruising.

2 Warnings problem of the 2024 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 06/12/2025

I actually have already sent in an assessment for airbag, but then read the recall on brakes, which at the time, because a new vehicle, I didn’t think possible. Even when pushing on my brakes, my vehicle was not slowing down like it should have, and I had a front end collision. It was hard for me to think this was because of brakes because new, but I do think they need to be examined.

3 Warnings problem of the 2020 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 11/15/2023

There are 3 issues going on with my SUV. Each item has been identified or verified at my local dealership. My main issue is that the car occasionally will not go into the correct gear. This mostly happens when I haven't driven the car in a couple of days, and it's cold out. It also shifts hard for no reason. I was informed that there is some sort of transmission issue with my type SUV. I never received a recall notice or anything. Second, my alarm goes off in the middle of the night randomly. The dealership said this was due to a faulty latch on the back of the car. They also said this was a newer issue that other customers have had. Last, my pre-collision assist will activate when there is nothing around to trigger it. This has happened one time so far.

4 Warnings problem of the 2022 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 09/07/2023

Vehicle has been shifting into neutral at speeds for 65 mph or more , it is constantly locking and unlocking itself when turned off. It malfuctiins during auto pilot asst( doesnt read the hands even though they are on the wheel) today it wouldn't turned on. When I pressed the brake to turn it on, it said that the steering system fails and that the braking system failed and the screen powered down to save battery. When pressed the brake shook and then locked down. Even if left on this vehicle turns off after idling for more than 10 minutes. So that makes no sense. It wouldn't even attempt to turn over.

5 Warnings problem of the 2022 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 04/03/2023

Since purchase in 2022, the vehicle has experienced repeated failures of multiple safety systems. These include frequent warnings that “pre-collision assist is not available,” repeated failures of blind spot detection with cross traffic alert, tire pressure monitoring warnings, and messages to “check 12-volt battery. ” these system malfunctions occur intermittently and unpredictably, creating unsafe driving conditions. In addition to the warning messages, the rear liftgate has failed to latch properly and on at least one occasion opened while the vehicle was in motion. This poses a serious hazard to vehicle occupants and to other drivers on the road. The safety risk is significant because these systems are designed to prevent or mitigate crashes. Their failure leaves the driver without critical safety features, and the trunk latch defect could cause loss of cargo or injury. These problems have been ongoing for years and have not been permanently corrected despite software updates and recall activity. The dealer has acknowledged the symptoms and advised the vehicle was unsafe to drive.

6 Warnings problem of the 2020 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 12/16/2022

The transmission has now had over 5 shifting stall and power loss events while on the highway when attempting to downshift when accelerating. This loss of power causes a drastic reduction in speed and delay in actions. These events have nearly cause accidents at highway speeds. Additionally the radar sensor for the collision avoidance system went out and the car now shifts harshly in any gear with jerking and clanking. Multiple service lights are now illuminated. This first happened around 20k miles, but is has been increasing in frequency and now the car is not safe or driveable. This is the same transmission that is affecting other Ford cars, like the Ford 150 which has been subject to recalls. From publicly available information Ford thinks it’s a shifter and transmission disconnect but has not been able to implement a fox.

7 Warnings problem of the 2021 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 12/12/2022

I have just found out that my pre-collision assist system has never worked in my vehicle since the day I purchased it brand new from the Ford dealership. My vehicle is 1 1/2 years old now and I never knew I had this function. Recently, I got a chip in the center of my windshield and I got it fixed. I asked how much a new windshield was and I was told a price and to make sure I get oem glass and to have the camera in the front where the rearview mirror is calibrated correctly so the pre-collision assist will work correctly. I was somewhat confused and was like ok. I searched for the settings in my vehicle and sure enough there is a pre-collision setting which has been on since who knows when because I never touched that setting before. Well, it has never worked because I have had countless encounters with vehicles and pedestrians cutting me off right in front of me while in operation. This is not good. And I read that 2020 Ford Expeditions have been recalled because of this. I believe it's happening to 2021 models as well. I expect to take my vehicle in for service ASAP.

8 Warnings problem of the 2020 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 05/08/2021

2020 - Expedition collision avoidance should be investigated. Background: 05-08-21 traveling south at 6 pm near oxford michigan on m-24 (grassy-median 4-lane highway) at the posted 55 mph limit in clear weather. Ford CO-pilot360 & 360 assist active with 360 deg camera. Speed control set to normal mode with “collision avoidance” set to max and auto braking. I am (1st car) in the right lane with a 2nd car following also in my lane. A 3rd car (waiting to enter the highway) stops ahead (on right- from west) at an intersection where left turns (north) are prohibited. That 3rd car safely turns right (south) in front of us quickly crossing both active southbound lanes and over into the short left turn-around lane north. That 3rd driver had cleared the two active lanes quickly and safely. As our vehicles approached him we had an open traffic lane on our left, a clear shoulder to the right and nothing in front of us, no safety issue yet. Issue: when I drive past that 3rd vehicle my Expedition dashboard shouts “collision warning”. My vehicle applies the brakes while my 360 degree cameras ignore that a car is closing fast behind me. I need to accelerate and do it now! I’m shocked to find that flooring my gas pedal or even pumping it has no effect. Ford has taken my throttle away from me, I can’t help that 2nd car behind me. The 2nd car brakes and swerves hard into the open lane barely missing me. It was just luck that the driver was responsive and the lane was open. No, I did not hit or touch the brake by mistake. The 2nd car now angry at me accelerates hard, passes and swerves back into my lane then hits his brakes! my Expedition “collision warning” doesn’t appear, so my “auto brakes” fail to activate and I’m forced to brake hard in response. After successfully avoiding another Ford induced accident, I backed-off a great distance to encourage a justifiably angry citizen to move away. I didn’t want a third attempt at my life if he pulled a weapon.
