Transmission Gear Slipping problems of the 1996 Ford Explorer

1 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2001

Was traveling 30mph and vehicle would not shift into 3rd gear from 2nd gear. Transmission would slip hard. Vehicle would jerk when this happened. At dealership, transmission was replaced with a used one, but same problem occurred.

2 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 07/28/1999

Transmission is slipping. Consumer contacted dealer.

3 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Vehicle was in park, with motor running, when the transmission slipped into reverse causing vehicle to back into another parked vehicle.

4 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Transmission slips from out of second and third gear.
