Two problems related to anti-theft controller have been reported for the 1998 Ford Explorer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Anti theft indicator illuminates, vehicle will not start. This has happened 3 times. Dealer stated computer showed no error code, cannot remedy the problem.
Ignition key anti theft design (glass vile inside the key) broke, not permitting vehicle to start.
