Three problems related to carburetor have been reported for the 1998 Ford Explorer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While starting Explorer an explosion occurred blowing off (into many pieces) the intake cover. The explosion lifted the car up into the air and the noise could be heard from inside our house.
Intermittant stalling when acclerating from a stop. Ford claims to have a re-calibration of the air/gas mix. Did no good. Still having the same problem.
Experiencing noise from air intake manifold.
