1 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2014

The car is in parking condition at work and after a long awhile it would not start even the full battery. I have attempted to make lots of checks for all component like relays, fuses and wiring connection they are all fine, in good condition. But finding out the starter relay had no power, no current flowing through it. I belief that the faulty is ( pcm unit ) power train control module that blocked a current from the starter relay.

2 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2007

2004 Ford Explorer hesitated and did not shift when going over 40 mph. Down shifted s for no reason and made a loud rumbling noise, had to pull over in heavy traffic at times; almost caused several accidents.

3 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2006

2004 Ford Explorer purchased new, experienced transmission issues very quickly, hard engagement into reverse, clunking when downshifting, car lurches upon acceleration during a slow turn. I have had into dealership 5 times, beginning 1 year ago at 10,000 miles. Recall additive put in 1st time, 2nd time at 15,000 miles I lost the entire right rack and pinion while driving (would not steer to the right), they told me after repair, the transmission problem was also gone. 3rd time they put in a qt. Of transmission fluid. 4th time they replaced the solenoid. 5th time I requested buy-back. Their transmission tech guy went with me, he observed the problem; happened multiple times. They did not keep vehicle at that time. One month later after I had to keep calling back they took the vehicle in again and this time they added another additive and reprogrammed the pcm. They also had to repair the transmission indicator cable, it told me I was in reverse when I was in park. Picked up car today, they told me it shifted great now, and they would give me an extended 5 yr. 75,000 mile warranty. I declined, stated I wanted a buy-back. While driving home, the car once again clunked while decelerating and also while accelerating into a turn. I have filed with the bbb auto line.

4 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2005

The contact states his vehicle is stalled while driving. The first time this happened he took the vehicle to a local dealership, and the pcm was reprogrammed. The vehicle stalled three times on November 6, 2005. This happens with no warning lights. The vehicle was taken to the same dealership. They could not duplicate the problem, therefore, no repairs were made.

5 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2005

We bought this vehicle new in December of 2004 and it has been in the service dept. 8 times in the past 7 months for warranty repairs. It has been in 4 times for "hard cranks but no start", 4 times for rough idling, 1 time for an rpm problem (and in next week for a different one- it stays around 3 rpm after accelerating- I have to let off of the gas pedal for it to shift down), and it has been in for misc. Issues (whistling noise at front window, rattling console, etc. ). Each time it has been brought in for the mechanical problems, they "upgrade the pcm". I have contacted the dealership and I have contacted Ford directly numerous times for a repurchase because of my daughter's medical condition. It requires that she has reliable and safe transportation available at all times. The dealership knew about her needs when we bought this SUV. However, I keep getting shuttled back and forth between the dealership, (schimmer Ford, illinois) and Ford motor company. As a long time purchaser of Ford vehicles, I am really disappointed in the treatment that I am receiving.

6 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2004

While making a turn, the vehicle shut off, and had to be towed to the dealer. The pcm software was replaced. The consumer experienced the same problem again. The consumer contacted the manufacturer. There was no response.

7 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2004

Still hesitates into reverse from drive after Ford fix of additive to transmission. Problem getting worse, affecting shifting in forward gears now.
