Air Conditioner problems of the 2017 Ford Explorer

Since a week ago I am feeling a strong smell in the vehicle once I turn it on and when I turn on the air condition it increases alot. I have gotten strong headaches because of this odor and my preocupation is that I am with my children most of the time. I called for a check up and they gave me an appointment. My preocupation is that it will happen again.

The lines to the rear cabin heating and cooling started leaking r134, so the whole car is losing air conditioning since it all ties together. The car is less than two years old, and is having problems like this, which should be quite embarrassing to an experienced auto maker like Ford. This is supposedly because the car was in colorado where roads are salted in the winter, but the lines should be aluminum, so they shouldn't corrode from salt.

There is an exhaust smell in the cabin of the vehicle. It has been making me sick, nausea, headaches, and burning eyes. The exhaust is coming in through the heating and air system and is more noticeable when accelerating and when the air conditioner is on. The smell is not as noticeable when the heat is on. The smell is the same with the air conditioner regardless of whether the recirculate feature is enabled. Turning off the heat / air conditioner seems to eliminate the problem. It is definitely coming into the cabin from the heat and a/c. I just learned this is a common issue with these vehicles and discovered all the talk on the internet and that Ford was offering a "customer satisfaction" inspection that ended on 12/31/18 which is not acceptable since my vehicle has only recently developed this problem and we have received no notification from Ford of this potential problem and the inspection / repair.

Carbon monoxide emissions in air conditioning system.

Smelled gasoline in cabin after driving car for 2 miles in morning. Air conditioner was on, temp was approx 75 degrees. Contacted dealer and they said that sometimes with new cars it is the result of the coating on the new parts. Car was purchased brand new yesterday, but had 187 mies on it. (per dealer, it may have been a swap from another dealer and the miles came from transport). Made a service appointment for 8/16 (next available), but service rep had no knowledge of any issues of this sort.

Possible carbon dioxide leak. On a recent long trip I had trouble with headaches and lightheaded. It became worse when the air conditioner was on. I got home and was very sick, I had my neighbor drive me to the hospital. My blood pressure was low, red blood cells low and was severely lightheaded. That was July 19, but I did not know about the exhaust fume problems until the news reported it on July 28; so a blood test for carbon dioxide poisoning was not performed. I think this has been happening off and on with me driving this car, but in a much milder form of symptoms. I looked up the symptoms for carbon dioxide poisoning and I had most of them. I do sometimes smell odors when I turn on the air or vent. Please check into the problems with the Explorers I need this repaired.

Exhaust smell and eyes burning when acceleration with air conditioner on . Inside of vehicle took to Ford dealer and they say they don't smell anything . This has been ongoing since it was brand new 50 miles on vehicle.

Excessive exhaust sulphur odor in vehicle while stationary or moving, with rear air conditioning on or off.

Engine exhaust odor in the cabin intermittently, going up a hill or merging onto the freeway at about 3500 rpms, air conditioner is on and recirculation mode is on, seems to fail more in hotter weather. This 2017 model is a replacement from Ford of our 2015 Ford Explorer that had the same problem!.

Bought this Ford Explorer April 2017 , it was a program car with 12,000 miles . I noticed a smell inside the cabin when the air conditioner is on . Dealing with headaches for three months , took at trip out of state and my whole family complained with headaches the entire trip . Finally realized it was my car. Needless to say im not very happy with Ford . It is currently at Ford , waiting for parts to fix this issue . Been there for two weeks :(.

While the vehicle is in motion, exhaust fumes come inside vehicle when the air conditioner is turned on. This happens when on a city street and a highway. The fault or problem that is created for unsafe conditions is the smell of exhaust fumes. Unknown for the component part or system that is causing the safety risk. This happens every time the vehicle is driven.

When I accelerate with the air conditioning unit on, the smell of exhaust is entering my cabin. I have to roll down the windows to let the smell out. According to the dealership, there is nothing wrong with our vehicle. I am concerned about my safety and that of my children when inhaling this smell.
