Ford recall 19c07- { applies to vehicles equipped with one or more mechanical front seats- potential lack of seat restraint in the event of a crash}. I received this notice by mail and made an appointment for my 2019 Ford Explorer at 'gary yeomans Ford palm bay' zip-32907. They did not repair this recall. I took my vehicle in on 07/27/20. My repair order states their tech #5534 found: "this vehicle does not have one or more mechanically adjustable front seats. Both seats in this vehicle are electronically controlled". The VIN says they both are power-which I questioned at the time of purchase-at this same dealership. I waited 3 full days for my vehicle to be repaired without a loaner vehicle-while this tech was too lazy to walk from the driver seat to the passenger seat to inspect that it wasn't a power seat. I also requested the 2nd row passenger seat be repaired or replaced. It continues to get stuck and won't fold up or click into place in the upright position. Twice it has jolted forward in the open position upon braking, while driving on the highway, hitting the front passenger seat. One of these times my granddaughter was sitting in this seat - I can only thank god she wasn't a toddler. For this reason my passengers cannot sit it in it - it very well could kill them. This same technician states on my repair order: "verified that the rear second row seats fold up and down and operate properly". I have been grilled about giving a five star review.

Power locks get stuck on either lock or unlocked not allowing me to either lock or unlock the car door on driver and back passenger door. Plastic stripping panels on front driver and passenger doors are coming off and the panels connected to the windshield on both sides. Power seats do not hold the memory of where it was left. The seat goes all the way up to the steering wheel when memory buttons are pressed or if the keyless code on the door is used to unlocked the car. Keyless entry will unlock without to code being typed in correctly. Using the first three numbers can unlock the door. All of these things happen will the car is stationary.

Drivers power seat is loose. Problem appears to be related to track. Seat feels loose and moves forward or backward depending on acceleration or braking. The biggest problem is how distracting this is. The amount of movement seems to be getting greater and greater.

In my 2008 Ford Explorer eddie bauer, while driving, stopped or backing at any time if the keys in the ignition get jiggled, if by bump in road or by knee, the power driver seat moves backwards. There is a feature called easy entry where the seat moves completely back to allow you to exit the vehicle easier, the problem is with the ignition area the area where the key is inserted to start the vehicle it becomes loose over time and as a result the sensor in there for the easy entry is compromised. When the keys get jiggled, on accident or on purpose the seats move, it is very dangerous for it to happen while driving. The seat moves back so far that no one can reach the petals to operate the vehicle. This should be on recall it is very dangerous for short or tall people. It could cause many many accidents and many many injuries. If needed I can provide video of this happening.

Sometimes while driving, driver's powered seat moves back.
On several occasions while driving during the past several months, the power seat has moved backwards on its own, causing problems in reaching the pedals safely. In several incidents when this occurred, the interior lights also turned on. Two of the times this happened, it was when I had to honk the horn, but has happened on other occasions as well. Tonight, while making a right turn, the interior lights came on and the seat moved backwards, then the vehicle died - all electrical components went dead. I could easily have been rear-ended while trying to get the vehicle re-started and this is a huge safety issue.
While in motion, the driver power seat will make un-commanded movement backwards and away from steering wheel and pedals. This scenario typically, but not always, occurs during a turn or acceleration. It has also occurred while at a steady speed in the city and on the highway. It appears to be related to the ignition located on the steering column. This has happened numerous times over the last several months and seems to be getting worse. Speeds at which this occurs range between initial acceleration up to highway speeds (70 mph).
While stationary, when the key is put in the ignition to start the vehicle, sometimes the power seat will go backwards and the interior dome lights go on. Last night, while driving between 30 to 50 mph, the seat moved backwards and the interior dome lights came on. This is dangerous as I couldn't reach the pedals. I had to move the seat forward with the seat adjuster buttons while the vehicle was in motion down the highway. This continued on and off four times in a span of 2 miles. Finally, I pulled to the side of the road and shut the engine off. I restarted the engine and drove home without the seat moving again, but I kept my hand down by the seat adjustment button the whole way home. This problem happens a lot when the vehicle is stationary. This is the third time this has happened in the past year while the vehicle was moving. Twice this vehicle was in for repair, but the dealership can't find the problem. They have replaced the seat motor once.
My 2007 Explorer driver seat move at will, forward or backward even while driving. I am short and the power seat moves back to where my feet no longer reach the pedals. This happens consistently when driving or just stationary while changing gears and has become a safety issue. The car has only 40,000 miles. I took it to have repaired but the dealer says there is nothing wrong with it. A net search reveals I am not the only one with this problem.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford exploder. The contact stated that the third-row power seat detection system failed to operate properly. The contact indicated that while putting bags in the hatch area, the third- row power seat button was accidently depressed and caused the seat to mechanically rise to the seated position. The contact indicated that during the transition from the folded position to the seated position, a coat and boot became stuck under the seat. The contact indicated that the third- row power seat detection system did not reverse the direction of the seat after making contact with the objects. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 40,000.

While driving, the driver power seat starts to move backwards and forward ,dome lights came on like if when I turn off the car . But the car is on and moving . And then two occasions while on the freeway driving the vehicle turned off. Pulled over and restarted the car and it turned on like if nothing happened. I had taken the vehicle to the dealer several times they have run diagnostic test and are not able to find any thing wrong. Done some research on line and found more people with same issue. Extremely dangerous!!! do not feel safe driving especially in traffic. Its an accident waiting to happen.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, the front driver's side seat began to release independently. The contact was able to move her body forward in order to depress the brakes and accelerator pedal. The power seat operated normally after several minutes however, the failure recurred sporadically. The vehicle was taken an authorized dealer where they were unable to duplicate the problem. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 65,965.
While driving at 55mph the drivers power seat moved to the full back position. This as happened at any speed many times in the pass few months. A short operator of the vehicle can not apply the brakes to stop the vehicle if needed. You must reach down and move the seat forward with the power switch located on the side of the drivers seat. This procedure takes to long if you need to come to a quick stop. This a big safety issue. The local Ford dealer as no idea what is wrong with the vehicle.
Ford Explorer 2007 power driver seat moves back without warning. Possible safety issue if the drive can't reach gas or brake pedal.
My 1997 Ford Explorer was parked outside a local restaurant when I was alerted that the interior of my vehicle was on fire and that the fire department had been called. Black smoke was pouring out of the slightly opened windows when I approached the SUV and ultimately put the fire out with a fire extinguisher. Closer examination indicated that the source of the fire came from under the drivers side seat. One of the firemen on the scene speculated that the motor that controls the power seat overheated and started the fire. My first call was to Ford motor company. Their response was that they would send me a letter in the mail. This letter came a week later and explained that although they would really like to assist me with my loss , there was not a recall on my vehicle, so they would not be able to assist me. My insurance company took care of me and hopefully they will also "take care of Ford" to recoup their loss . I am fortunate that a young child or one of our family pets were not in the car. Any thoughts I may have had about buying another Ford have been replaced with thoughts about there customer dis-service and the lack of concern over a potentially deadly problem with one of their best selling SUV's.

2006 Ford Explorer limited driver seat would not retain memory on #2 setting. When exiting the vehicle the seat wont glide back until the #2 button is pushed. Tire pressure light illuminated. The dealer had to reprogram the seat memory module and reprogram both remotes. The dealer reset the tire pressure sensors.
2006 Ford Explorer ltd. Memory seat not working properly. The consumer stated the seat would place him up against the steering wheel, other times it would only move forward a few inches and other times after removing the key and trying more than once the seat would function properly.
The left front seat bracket weld broke free and caused my seat to lean to the right. I had brought the vehicle in for the seat back recall. Some time later I had noticed that the seat felt loose. The fasteners broke off the end of the front drive rod which allowed the seat bracket to slip off the front drive rod. . When I brought this to the dealer to evaluate the said that the whole seat track assembly would have to be replaced a cost of $586. 00. After some investigation I find that this problem appears to be common with these vehicles. I notified Ford and am waiting a response from them.

The driver's seats broke from the metal part by where one adjusts seat forward and backward. Was sitting in the seat and the bolt that holds seat in place broke. A mechanic that installs the seats in the Ford Explorer come looked at it and said it should have never of happened. Was injected into the back seat, and then got out. Then husband got in and moved vehicle , injected him forward . Also, it blew all the electrical fuses , bought new fuses and now it works.

Left front driver's side seat bracket weld broke free and caused me to lean forward unexpetedly while making a turn. I had complained about something feeling loose during the recall of the seat leanback fastener(recal #03s04 a99). They told me they couldn't find anything wrong but they could replace the entire seat track at my expense. This was on 10-9-03. I believe the weld had broken free at the times when the seat leanback fasteners broke but didn't completely slip off the bracket. Over time and use the bracket loosened up enough to pop off the seat bracket drive rod. I took the vehicle to sunset Ford and the service tech and service mgr didn't even look at the problem. They just said it's too old and has 83,000 miles on the vehicle. I find it sad that they didn't even look at the problem or what might have led up to or caused it. The auto body repair shop I took it to for repairs said Ford Explorers and expeditions all have this problem. I don't know this to be true, but I thought someone should make others aware of this if it is. The auto body shop spot-welded the bracket back in place for $74. 10. I also called Ford's !-800 # but they also denied my complaint because of the mileage.
Driver seat fell into the back seat. There was a recall for the seat. Vehicle was picked up and the seat fell again. Dealer stated that the seat was worn out.

My family drove to a store (6/21/04) and left our 1996 Ford Explorer in the parking lot for approximately one hour. When we returned the front of the cab was filled with smoke. We started trying to find what smelled so bad, and what was smoking. My husband realized the smoke was coming from under the drivers seat. He was able to move the seat up (electronic) and after burning his finger he was able to unplug the six way seat adjustment motor. When we called Ford they would not do anything, but did say they would charge us $72 to diagnose what was wrong. It is evident the electronic motor had caught fire and has a hole burned through the side of it. If we had not returned to our SUV we would now have ashes, as the electric power is a constant feed. I contacted Ford, in michigan, with this matter. I was told on 6/24/04 that I would need to pay for the diagnostic in order for Ford to even look into the matter. They stated I could call my insurance and go that route. I explained I was worried about the safety of others and they said it was up to me what I did. They would not do anything unless I paid for the diagnostic. I stated that it was not my responsibility but Ford's and she responded yes. In frustration I hung up and began this complaint. If someone were to leave his or her child in the car and this happens the child will be severely injured. If I had been alone when this happened I would not have known to unplug the seat motor. This is very dangerous. My husband stated that the heat was so intense he was surprised the seat had not caught on fire. He has since taken the motor out and will replace it when the part comes in. We still have the original motor. Please do something before someone is killed.
Crossbar under front of power seat broke I was told the whole assembly including motor needs replaced not just the bar. It is like driving on water(floating around). The warranty would cover if the motor failed or if it was a nonpowered seat. This is hazardous and should be fixed as a safety issue.
Left front seat rocks in full elevated position, dealer said it was normal play in the power seat track. Nlm.
Bolts holding back of front driver's seat have sheared off. This caused seat to recline backwards. Driver's view would be obstructed when either accelerating or braking.
When either accelerating or decelerating the driver's side seat will make a popping sound and move (short distances). The manufacturer has claimed it happens on all 1999 Explorer models (eddie bauer version) with eletronic seats. I am worried that the seat could be designed incorrectly and possibly move forward during an accident since it will move during normal acelerations and decelerations.
Power seat controls failed.
While removing child from car seat on second row of vehicle driver's side seat reclines back on top of consumer's leg . Dealer has been notified. However, has no remedy for seat.
