All warning lights came on kept flashing that everything was wrong. Then the whole dash blacked out. I had no lights. No turn signals. Then they would come back on and off again. Had the car into the dealer on 7/20/20 when it keep saying head on collision and they told me nothing was wrong. On Nov. 20 had wench light come on and said the car could not hold on hill. On Nov. 24 they said they could not find any fault and problems. When I left I was at the light and the car accelerated trying to go forward. But I had my foot on the brake. So Dec 5, is when all the lights and electrical issues are going on. I was driving with all this going on I have a video but don't know how to add to the file. Also I could not check all the warning light above.

Started car and put in reverse and noticed that the steering was not working normally and then noticed the power steering fault assist and service advance trac notification. Also at the same time, the turn signal would not stay engaged. I managed to drive 100 miles home with "manual steering" on the highway and needed to use one hand to change lanes. If this problem happened going 60 miles per hour, an accident or worse, lose of life, as what happened was unexpected and steering was very difficult. This vehicle was bought 1/2/15 and this problem happened at 26,100 miles and the repair cost $2,147. 25 at the Ford dealer by my house. Since Ford was able to replace the assembly the same day leads me to believe this is a very common problem and stock the parts and looking at other complaints online, an ongoing issue with Ford vehicles in general. Ford had a 1. 1 million recall for this on the 2011-2013 vehicles and they never fixed the issue going forward. A recall needs to be done.

When I turned on my left turn signal, it doesn't blink. It just freezes and smoke comes from the steering column. Once I turned off the turn signal it stopped smoking.

Why have some car manufacturers replaced yellow rear turn signals with red ones. These lights are very hard to discern directly above brake lights. This even occurs between models of the same make. I have spoke with many people about this and they have noticed the same thing. We cannot figure out how this was allowed to happen. All vehicles should have to have the same lighting, period. Thank you.

When turning on the left turn signal, it accasionally fails to work properly and smoke arises from the steering column. The problem was getting worse and I was afraid I might not notice and my car would catch fire. Upon taking it to Ford to have the problem corrected hoping it was some type of recall I missed, but it was considered wear and tear. After reviewing a number of similar complaints, I don't believe this should be considered normal wear and tear. It is obviously a manufacturer's defect that jeopardizes safety that should be corrected at no cost to the owner.
The left turn signal light in the interior of the dashboard remained on and caused smoke to come out of the steering column. This could be dangerous because there could be an electrical short which would result in a fire. The consumer placed the vehicle in park to release the turn signal and stop electrical smoke.
When putting on turn signal signal started to smoke and caught on fire. Contacted dealer, and the dealer was not willing to do anything.

About 50% of the time the turn signal will not lock in place, you have to jockey the steering will to get the turn signal to stay on. The mechanism was supposedly replaced on 1/17/2001 and the problem still existed. I was told that this was normal operation for the turn signal. On April 30, 2002 I had the vehicle in the dealer and mentioned the continued issue with the turn signal. I was told that some of them act this way. . . It's just the way it is (greg bower). I continue to deal with this problem. I find the problem not only an irritant, but also a saftey problem. I find my attention diverted from driving safely when I am trying to get the turn signal to lock in place (to safely signal to other drivers my intentions).
When using the light signal at times it won't work. Technician explained that in some places signal will not work.
