Front Seat Recliner Problems of Ford Explorer Sport Trac

I found a recall dated Aug. 5, 2003 on autosite. Com, but was informed that my VIN number was not in that particular recall by bohn Ford. I have a 2001 Ford sports trac. My seats just fall back without warning, does an accident have to occur for my seats to be repaired by Ford? shouldn't this be their responsibility? what vehicles were recalled in Aug. 5, 2003 if not my make and model?.

The driver's seat was unable to recline or able to move forward making the ability to drive for a taller person difficult. The consumer also heard a clicking noise when the heater was on. Manufacturer was contacted by owner.

1 at approximately 45 mph vehicle went into a slide right rear axel broke off causing a rollover this occurred on wet pavement ! 2 drivers seat went into the reclining position, ejecting the driver into the rear seat causing his head to go through the passenger side rear door glass , braking bones in his left hand ,contusions and severe trauma to head and neck medical records and pictures available ! 3 the vehicle was a total loss . I am in possession of the failed seat it was repaired prior to the accident because of a factory defect Ford motor CO notified there has been no personal contact by their rep.

I was hit from behind and pushed into a vehicle in front of me. During the impact, my seatback (driver's) moved back slightly and the center of the seat back collapsed, causing me to injure my back.

Driver 's side seat recliner bolt broke. Brakes squealed constantly. Replaced left rear axle and seal. The consumer stated that while driving he smelled something burning and saw the vehicle was filled with smoke in the bed area from the brakes on passenger side. It was discovered that the brakes were too tight.

Driver's side seat track had a failure that caused it to squeak and not to work efficiently. Dealership replaced this part 5 times, but problem still occurs.
