Seats Problems of Ford Explorer Sport Trac

During normal use, usually when in motion but frequently when the vehicle is not in motion, the drivers seat suddenly flops backwards to the recline position. This has been an issue since the truck was about three years old. I took it to the dealer one time but they said they would have to keep the truck; that didnt work for me because I would have no transportation and I always have to go to work, then and now. I saw a recall on the 2010 for this and figured I would let you know it was for a lot longer than that. It might help explain some dead people in sport tracs. I certainly had some anxious moments at times in the 15 years with my truck. . Ive tried to fix it several times with no real success, a new seat is expensive, used seats are going to do the same thing but since my seat has also collapsed I guess I need to replace it.

I purchased a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Tract I didn't get to test drive it because there were other vehical surrounding it. When I finally got to drive my truck home I noticed the transmission had a severe issue. When I turned a corner my tires rubbed badly on some other part to the trucks parts and the driver seat has a medal rod that jabs me in the back that's coming thru the fabric now my battery has leaked acid every where in the battery compartment and surrounding areas.

Purchased vehicle 09/03/2010. Driver and front passenger head rests are angled forward causing head to be titled forward and downward. Causing severe neck and back pain. No replacements found. Ford motor company emailed.

Cconsumer state that the seat squeaked and it was taken in and they found 3 cracks in the base and they replaced it and the consumer state that the seat still squeak the dealer told the consumer that it is ok nothing wrong.

Consumer has taken vehicle in many times inquiring about the squeaking in the left front seat. The base of the seat frame was cracked. The seat has been replaced, the squeaking still exists.
