Side/window Air Bag problems of the 1996 Ford F-150

Three problems related to side/window air bag have been reported for the 1996 Ford F-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/01/1998

While driving about 25-30 mph, the truck was involved in a rear end crash, and there was no deployment of the driver's side air bag. The crash bent the bumper down about 2 inches. The truck is being repaired.

2 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/05/1996

Vehicle was parked, no impact involved, driver side air bag deployed without warning, causing injuries and burns.

3 Side/window Air Bag problem

While driving at 30/40 mph vehicle was in a frontal collision. Driver side air bag didn't deploy upon impact.
