Speed Control Linkage problems of the 1997 Ford F-150

Four problems related to speed control linkage have been reported for the 1997 Ford F-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Speed Control Linkage problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2002

Consumer states that the vehicle accelerater and brake are too close. Consumer was trying to brake and vehicle accelerated and hit a house. Cause is unknown. Please provide any further information. Mr.

2 Speed Control Linkage problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2000

Vehicle was recalled for the throttle linkage. But manufacturer said that this vehicle was not in cluded in the recall.

3 Speed Control Linkage problem

Failure Date: 10/21/1999

While trying to park accelerator pedal got stuck ,causing the vehicle not to be able to stop. Consumer was finally was able to put the vehicle in neutral. Please provide any futher information.

4 Speed Control Linkage problem

Failure Date: 08/17/1999

Vehicle been experiencing problem with sudden acceleration whenever vehicle came to a stop. Vehicle been in/out of three different dealer shops, and problem still occurring.
