Recall 98s14, lugs:nuts:bolts; recall notice was received in June, 1998. Contacted the dealer approximately six times, and dealer did not have the replacement parts to remedy the problem. Consumer continues to drive the vehicle.
Recall # 98vv09500, wheel lugs: nuts: bolts. ; recall has not been repaired on this vehicle which may cause an accident. The occupant was trying for about 4 months to have vehicle repaired. Dealer claims it still on national back order. Please provide further details.
Recall 98v095000//98s14, lugs:nuts:bolts. Consumer states the parts are not available at the Ford manufacturer. Contacted two dealers since June, 1998. The recall notice should not have been sent out if the parts were not available.
Due to failure of the lug nuts (recall component) wheel fell off of vehicle, wheel hit another vehicle in the windshield causing damage. No notice of recall was received by consumer. (complaint sent in by owner of other vehicle).
Traveling 40mph when rear wheel separated from vehicle. Took to dealer & had it repaired. Problem of wheel occurred before recall (#98v095000). Dealer didn't want responsibility & manufacturer. Backed dealer.

Wheels bolts stretching upon normal tightening due to improper metal or hardening. The nut seizes on the wheel bolt before it tightens properly and causes the wheel lug nut washer to "eat away" the aluminum wheel enough to allow movement of the wheel to break off the wheel bolts and separate the wheel from the axle.
The lug: nuts sheared and the wheel came off the vehicle. Dealer has seen.
The vehicle's front passenger's wheel fell off due to the five lugs: nuts: studs shearing off, causing the wheel to fall off and almost causes an accident.
Consumer had a flat tire. Took original tire off to be fixed. Once fixed, the tire was placed back on. While traveling at 30mph the wheels broke off due to faulty lugs: nuts. Consumer received a recall letter from the manufacturer regarding the lugs: nuts.

Vehicle was purchased used. There was a lugs: nuts: bolts recall in may,1998. This recall has been repaired, but problem has occurred since purchase buy new owner. Ford has not been contacted.

Consumer received a recall notice July 16, 1998 for the lugs: nuts, recall 98v095000. The dealer received parts and finally had repairs done 3/3/99.
Consumer has been trying to get his recall done since July,98. Each time the dealer states they do not have the lug: nuts.

Recall # 98v095000 Ford/lugs: nuts; owner never received 2nd recall notice. When son was driving the truck about 30-35 mph, the rear wheel on the driver's side almost came off because all the lughs nuts and studs came off the wheel except one.
Consumer believes his truck is included in recall 98v-095 of the lug nuts, consumer has been unable to obtain details of the recall and is trying to have his vehicle included in the recall. Nlm.
Every 2 months passenger's rear wheel would become loose. Ford's description of lugs: nuts tightening would overtorque it & cause it to fatigue & eventually break.
