Three problems related to equipment have been reported for the 1999 Ford F-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Front 4x4 actuator keeps failing even after replacing with a new one several times. I've replaced it 3 times already in the past 5 years. Enclosed below is a pdf file of the part I intend to purchase come December 3, 2019.
The overdive knob on gear shifter broke off while down-shifting from drive to 2nd gear. When researching the internet. . . . This seems to be a common problem!!!.
On 7/16/11 the gas tank straps broke and dropped the gas tank on the ground while I was driving to the store at about 35 mph. I paid $94. 00 towing fee, $242. 03 to replace the straps etc. Fortunately the tank did not break open, or get ripped from the vehicle causing a fire or spill two weeks prior I paid over $300. 00 to get the bolts removed for the starter as they has corroded in place - steel bolts into an aluminum transmission - genius!.
