The contact's back was slammed against the pole of a speed limit sign and he hit his face against the door. The contact stated that he was crushed between the driver's side door and the speed limit sign. The contact was released by emergency units and was transported to the hospital by air ambulance. The contact was diagnosed with a partly broken face, broken nose, broken eyes socket, broken teeth on the left side of the face, fractured skull, right and left clavicle fracture, 4-5 ribs fracture, which led to lung failure, hematoma in the abdomen, spinal damage. Additionally, the contact was on life support for four months. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed. The contact was unsure whether the vehicle was totaled. Pulled up to stop light to make a left turn-sat at light 2 minutes-put foot on gas pedal to turn and the engine died tried to restart- would not start-theft light was flashing fast-was pushed out of intersection-went to call tow truck- came back -tried to start and it started-was able to drive home a short distance-parked for tow truck to pick up. -started 3 times at my house but die if turned on and off about 10 times.

Consumer received recall letter on 1999 f150 and was referred to manufacturer. Consumer has since not had recall work done and has not heard from manufacturer. The consumer stated about a month prior to receiving the recall notice, he discovered smoke coming from his vehicle. Since the incident happened, other componets on the vehicle have stopped working.
Dt : car was parked and it was smoking . Opened the hood quickly, pulled the electrical line , could still drive and drove it to the dealer. They charged to fix it. Smoke was due to the speed control switch. This happened back in April 2005. Consumer didn't see actual flames, but plenty of smoke looked like as it was getting ready to catch on fire.
Speedometer was defective. Consumer had to guess how fast he was traveling. Vehicle was taken to the dealership, but no changes were performed.
When the brakes were applied, the vehicle accelerated.

The reported failure was the 2nd time. The truck keeps accelerating until the accelerator is manually pulled up, by hand. This is a life threatening situation.
While driving vehicle at any speed and with no warning vehicle would accelerate. Dealer had been notified.
The vehicle accelerated to 70 mph and would not decelerate, brakes would not work and when the vehicle was put into neutral, the rpms increased to 3000, the transmission shifted heavily and vehicle began to run normally, on one occasion the consumer had to shut the vehicle completely off.
When stopping at a light or stop sign vehicle will suddenly start to accelerate as if someone slammed foot on accelerator. Please provide any further information.
When the speed control is activated going on an incline vehicle surges forward. The dealer has inspected the vehicle . Ford will not contact consumer.
Vehicle will continue to accelerate even with foot off the accelerator, causing loss of vehicle control. Dealer was unable to duplicate the defect. Please provide further information.
