Purchased a 2000 Ford f150 pickup truck about 3 months ago, and on August 12,2007 approx. 10 :00 p. M. My husband and I were alerted by our 8 year old son that he smelled smoke and something burning. My husband checked the upstairs rooms w/ no signs so went downstairs and opened the door to the garage and saw the truck engine on fire! he yelled for us to get out because the truck was on fire so I grabbed my 9 month old and by the time we all got out, the garage doors already burned off! our house was completely destroyed. . . We lost everything.

The contact stated that he received another recall notice in December of 2007. The dealer stated that the part would be available in June of 2008. The contact owns a 2000 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle caught fire under the hood. The vehicle was destroyed with the exception of the bed. She was informed that there was a recall on the vehicle for the vehicle speed control. The contact received a recall notice, but failed to bring it to the mechanic when she attempted to have the vehicle serviced. The mechanic stated that the repair could not be performed without the recall notice. The police and fire department arrived and a fire report was filed. The contact endured property damage due to the heat from the fire. The engine size was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 70,000.

The contact owns a 2000 Ford F-150. The contact received a recall notice for the vehicle speed control in may of 2007. He notified the dealer and manufacturer to have the recall repair performed, but they refused to assist. As a result, the vehicle caught fire in a parking lot. He called the dealer on several occasions to have the deactivation switch disconnected, but has not received a response. The vehicle was destroyed. The recall number was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 130,000.

I bought a 2000 Ford f150 sat at noon parked it 1:15 sun 3:00 am it was burned to the ground fire chief said cruise circuit likely, Ford refuses to do anything, car lot refuses to do anything, other car damaged I am out $4000 .

My truck, owned by my company, had been sitting in the alley where I was working not running. The 2000 Ford F-150 ext -cab 2-wd pickup caught fire for no reason, the fire started at the driver side wheel well at the hood level,once the fire started there was no stopping it. I was lucky the fire caused no damage to people or other peoples property. The truck had a recall issue with the speed control module, this truck was listed with Ford on the web site. I never received the notice. I have contacted Ford, we will see. This is a small company with limited funds, not insured for this, my own fault.

- the contact owns a 2001 Ford F-150. The vehicle was towed to the dealer due to a very loud noise under the hood. The repair mechanic installed a helicoil in the threads of the cylinder head and replaced the spark plug coil. The vehicle was parked on the dealer's lot and caught fire from the engine compartment. The fire damaged the wire harness, speed control, and the engine. In October 2006 the contact request the dealer honor NHTSA recall #05v388000 (Ford recall #05s28) pertaining to the vehicle speed control. The dealer would not cover the recall stating the contact never responded to the recall notice. The contact stated that he never received recall notice. The contact has pictures of the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2000 Ford F-150. He received a recall notice for the vehicle speed control (NHTSA campaign id #07v336000) in December of 2006. The dealer has stated that the parts were unavailable. As of March 17, 2008, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle. The contact felt that wait time for the part is excessive. The failure mileage was 72,000 and there had been no failure to date. Updated 4/2/08 updated 04/02/08.

45 Vehicle Speed Control problem

: the contact stated while parked, the engine bay caught on fire. There were no warning signals prior to the incident. The fire department was contacted and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was deemed totaled there were two vehicles that were parked next to the contact's vehicle that were totaled as well. Neighbors noticed smoke and sparks coming from the vehicle's engine bay prior to the fire. A police report was taken. The dealer was contacted, and suggested that a letter should be provided to the manufacturer's consumer affairs deferment. There were two NHTSA recalls #05v388000 and #05v017000 pertaining to the vehicle speed control. The contact never received a NHTSA letter. The manufacturer was contacted and suggested that the vehicle's owner needed to provide a letter of representation. Pictures of the burned vehicle were available.

While the vehicle was parked it caught on fire. Consumer extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher. Then, vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the speed control module needed to be replaced.

Consumer had a 2000, Ford, f150 vehicle and from day one a hollow knocking noise was heard at idle, most noticeable when in gear at idle, or low rpm. Sounded like a diesel engine. Vehicle had been several times at different Ford dealers, and they indicated there was nothing wrong, the service manager stated he did hear the noise, but Ford did not know what it was. Therefore, they couldn't do anything.

When pressing accelerator pedal nothing was happening. Once while pulling into an intersection, vehicle failed to move again. Problem was intermittent. Problems seem to occur when engine is cold and idling, then pressing on the accelerator and the engine will not advance, consumer plans to take to dealer for repairs. Ea04006 has ifs.

Unexpected and unintentional acceleration. Driver jumped from vehicle. Vehicle continued at excessive speed with emergency brake engaged until it collided with a building.
