The contact owns a 2001 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the passenger side seat belt has failed. The retractor is locked in place and is unable to move. The failure has lasted for approximately one month. The engine size and a valid VIN were unknown. The current mileage is 65,598 and failure mileage was 65,200.

2 Front Seat Belt Retractor problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2003

The contact owns a 2001 Ford f150. The contact stated that the driver side seat belt disengaged without warning. The dealer stated that the seat belt assembly failed and that the recall repair under NHTSA campaign id number 00v348000 (seat belts:front:retractor) had already been performed. The consumer was informed the seat belt was out of warranty, but the consumer could pay for it at his own expense.

3 Front Seat Belt Retractor problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2003

Consumer noticed that both passenger and driver front seat belts were inoperative. Both seat belts locked while driving at normal speed and failed to retract after usage. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic replaced seat belts and retractor. However, the problem recurred.

4 Front Seat Belt Retractor problem

Dealer refused to correct recall 00v348000 because consumer was a trouble maker.

5 Front Seat Belt Retractor problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2001

Seat belt retractors need replacing. Consumer is not able to fasten seat belts. Please provide any further information.

6 Front Seat Belt Retractor problem

Failure Date: 05/24/2001

On several occasions, customer states that the passenger side front seat belt will not retract properly, resulting in, on one occasion, passenger being banged against the front of the cab, dealer replaced right front seat belt retractor, but did not remedy problem.

7 Front Seat Belt Retractor problem

Intermittently seat belt on driver's side locked up. The seat belt gradually became tighter and tighter. This occurred 3 times in a 15,000 miles trip.
