Our 2004 Ford f150 4x4 truck was subject to recall 11s18. When we took the truck in for the recall work at the nearest Ford dealer service department informed us that they didnt have the parts to complete the recall work on our truck because the service rep said that Ford only sends them five of the harness recall parts per day and they have been dealing with over 30 calls per day for this recall work and they have no idea when they will get the part to complete the recall work on our truck but they will call when they get the part. This is unacceptable in a safety recall.
Subject: recall - Ford truck 2004 f- 150, recall #: 11s18 dear administrator: on may, 20, 2011. I received a letter from Ford company about the recall mentioned above. For the record I tried to set up an appointment to have it fixed, I called two different dealers and both said they are waiting on Ford to send the part and that they have lots of people waiting for that part . My name and phone number was given to both dealers they mentioned that they will call me when the part is in. It’s been over a month I have not heard anything yet, the reason I am writing is to have it on record that I tried to fix it. 1-dealer called: don davis Ford, arlington, texas 817-588-544 . Talked to persons havoier, daniel, on (5/24/11, then on 5/31/11, then on 6/7/11. 2- dealer called: grand prairie Ford, grand prairie, texas 972-352-8000. Talked to a lady that answered the phone. On 6/13/11.
I own a 2004 Ford lgt convtnl F-150 truck and I have a constantly illuminated air bag warning lamp on my vehicle since October of 2010. I understand there is an expanded recall on over a million vehicles that experienced this problem however my vehicle is currently not included in the recall. What options do I have with the manufacturer so that they correct the deficiency if it is diagnosed with this defect? thanks.
Inadvertent airbag deployed on 2004 f150.
I was rearended while sitting still at a traffic light at a rate of 55+ mph. The force of the impact caused my truck to strike the vehicle in front of me which caused a chain reaction of 5 cars in front of the one I hit. The vehicle crash caused severe injuries to me because my face hit the steering wheel.
Driver lost control of light duty truck, estimated speed at 50 to 60 miles per hour, telephone pole was sheared completely off from ground, truck continued several more feet and came to rest after hitting a tree. Neither the driver or passenger air bag was deployed on impact. Crash resulted in death of driver.
35 to 40 mile per hour tree hit to a 2004 Ford f150 4wd pickup, no air bag deployment resulted in fatal accident.
I was driving my new Ford f150 ,3 weeks old, up the highway 70 mph with cruise control on. Suddenly the air bag depolyed, buring my right ear lobb. I then pulled over to the side of the highway ,with out any incedent, when I got out I noticed that the driveshaft fell out of the transmission. The transmission was shattered like an egg shell. The mechanics at the dealership pointed out that one c-clip was either never put in the front u-joint. They did not know why the ait bag should have gone off. They then tried to tell my my insurence should fix it. There is no body damage not even a piece of dirt missing. Then they said they would fix it. Wwhen I went up to sign work release the said they want to send the truck back to the factory. But theynever did this. I then told them I do not want it back they can just keep it. Under the lemon law. It was alrready in the shop for over 30 days. They had there legal dept. Call me and tell that it is not a lemon and I must keep this truck. I did not argue. But then out of the blue they agian saying I could come up there and pick out 1 of 2 2005 f150 that were more expensive and did not have options mine had. I would have to pay the cash difference up front to pick 1 up. I did not have that kind of cash so I stuck to my word that I dont want a nother Ford truck. After this time no one else would discuss the matter with me they just hang up. Now they sent a letter to say they selling my truck to pay for legal fees and repiars. Please help me to deciced what action I shouldi take . Ps I did not go to the hospital so layer do not want to help.
While consumer was driving 30-35 mph, another vehicle cut in front of consumer vehicle, consumer slammed on brakes and vehicle continued on , hitting the other vehicle on driver's front side. Upon impact, neither frontal air bag deployed, and the abs failed to stop the vehicle. Dealer and the manufacturer were not notified.
