1 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2010

Check engine light came on with code p0442 indicating evap emission control system small leak. Mechanic performed smoke test and found severed fuel line on top of the fuel tank. It appears the line was faulty in that it was relatively protected on top of the fuel tank. Also, this line is directly adjacent to the muffler which is a potential fire hazard.

2 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 06/30/2005

The consumer received recall 05v266000 on 6/25/05. Concerning fuel system. There was a potential fire hazard, the consumer called the dealership on 6/29, and they stated they did not have the parts, and they didn't know when they will receive the parts. They told the consumer to keep calling. The consumer called Ford and reported the problem on 6/30/05. A reprensative told owner that there was nothing Ford could do to get parts any faster. When the owner asked who would be responsible if the truck caught on fire, the representative reported that it would be his insurance company that had to pay. Owner felt that this was irresponsible on Ford's part.
