I bought used cash truck, drove fine for first day, second day while truck was in motion and put in reverse it dies, took a couple turns to started up and it started coding the camsaft sensors, got codes cleared, and it drove ok for 30 minutes coated again started to stall and stutter a bit. I heard a lot about Fords in the camshaft sensors does that mean my truck is done for. My truck has to camshaft sensors. 5. 4.
Complete frame under trunk is rusted to where the frame is getting ready to break in half I have looked at several other of the same make and model and they have the same similar problems so I'm not as bad as others but 90% of them are not safe to drive I live in the area there's not a lot of salt nore sand if this was a problem with just my vehicle I would understand but since it is a problem with a lot of these trucks something needs to be done buy Ford manufactures.
Me enter hoy que mi truck tena varios recall y no he recibido aviso, gracias por su atencion.

Transmission clunks. Truck stalls in traffic because of throttle body problems. It has been an on going problem over the past several years.
My 2005 f150 has an electronic switch to engage the 4 wheel drive. It has stopped working all together. I've researched the problem and have discovered that this is a common problem for this model from 2004 on up. I nearly crashed while driving after a snow storm due to the 4 wheel drive being inactive.
Will not go in reverse.

My 2005 Ford f150 truck has had so many problems & some replace twice & im over it im about to have a heart attack now it sounds like my aculator again with the sound of metal scraping on the ground and when I switch it to 44 the sounds stops . But if its not in 44 the sound stays and it is loud ! I have spent so much get my truck fixed and what upsets me is I take care of my truck change oil spark plugs everything since purchased in 2005 brand new and im over it something needs to done with all these parts defected and it will continue until something is done.
Trans fault error.
I needed a new transmission last year. Just blew out of no where. This year alone I needed new hubs, all8 cylinders have a miss fire my truck dropped from 60 to ten in seconds so scary.
Truck was bought and I replaced all spark plugs and even had to replace a clinoid because was told that was the problem. Its not. . . There is a ball valve in the transmission that keeps the truck from building enough pressure to be able to shift which throws a code and says misfire on 6 been replaced twice now so clearly not the problem. This is a major issue. . Truck feels as if fixing to fie then check engine light will come on start flashing but throw no codes and you cant speed back up because it feels like your truck is about to die and you don't want to blow your motor.
My truck has a known issue with the 5. 4l's cam phasers. The truck makes a very loud noise and shakes. To repair this, it's around $3,000 and also I have a known issue with all 8 coils which had to be replaced for $1,200 and a known misfire. I do not understand why Ford motor is aware of the ongoing issues in this year truck and has not done anything about it. Also if the cam phasers are not replaced the engine will blow!.
!. Vacuum advance control for four wheel drive gets wet, looses pressure and front wheels engage slightly, causing wheel hub damage. 2. Steering becomes hard, especially in cold weather. Hard to inspect steering shaft until it is disconnected from steering rack. Common problem with mid to late 2000's Ford crown vic. Police vehicles. Come on Ford, man up and make these problems a recall.
Takata recall at 80,000 miles f150 transmission went out. Had it repaired now in less than 12,000 miles gone again.
Metal scraping sound from rear end. Mechanic has checked and says pinion, bearings, ring gear have failed. Looks like its a common failure. 9. 75 ring gear, 3. 55 ratio.
Rear end shaking while driving down road about 60mph. Getting off gas nor putting vehicle in neutral would not stop shaking. Had to come to complete stop before starting again to make vehicle drive properly.
I own the above mention vehicle, there was no disclosure to me at the time of purchase of a very serious design flaw with the spark plugs that could and likley will break off in the engine during replacement and the extreme cost in changing these plugs around 900 to 1000 dollars if no plugs break off and even more in the plugs do break off or heads have to removeed to extract the plugs even worse pieces of prshell could fall into the engine cycndler and cause engine damage to around 8000 dollars now that I aware of the extreme cost 3 or 4 times the amount for routine maintence of changeing spark plugs in these Ford vehicles Ford is no help at all saying its not a safety issue I cant help it the design flaw with these long 2 piece plugs is so serious and the price gougeing of the consumer for the cost to change spark plugs is so exspenive and so bad I strongley feel that the federal gov should step inno the matter and help the consumers out and not allow Ford to get by with this extreme bad design flaw and the outragious cost they are chargeing and the fed gov should force Ford to recall all affected vehicles and mandate that Ford eat the cost of changeing these sark plugs and put in the newly develpoed plugs that are not prone to become seized to the engine and Ford shall do so at no cost to the consumer safety or not it is just unbeleivable they can get by with such a serious design flaw with such a high expence to the consumer for something that is surposed to be routine.
Ford designed the factory spark plugs as a two piece design. Once the truck requires a tune up the current spark plugs break in half as they are removed causing an addition cost for extra labor and special tools designed to remove these plugs. I took my truck to the Ford dealer who then broke 6 out of 8 plugs upon removal at an extra cost of 80 dollars a piece. The tune up which only includes the removal off the old and the installation of the newly designed one piece spark plugs ended up costing me 1000 dollars. These spark plugs also break inside the engine causing a loss of power and possible damage to the catilitic converter.
I bought a 2005 Ford f 150 used not knowing about the engine and rear end problems until I heard the raddle coming from under the hood so I go ask dealer about this problem he said this type engine was from Ford was not good lucky for me they were repairing one it had blown a spark plug out and they were replace parts for the cam he said get rid of the truck or run it till it blows up it has no power it stalls in the most bad places I am afraid I am going to have a wreck and hurt some one Ford needs to recall these engine and fix the rear end problem also I don't have 5 to 8 grand to fix it.
Vehicle went into 'failsafe mode' and stopped running with no warning. Manual said this would allow the vehicle to proceed safely home. Did not get far before it would not run. When it did run, it ran at about 2 mph before failing to go any farther. Looking on the internet, lots of people have had this occur with various Ford vehicles.

I bought my Ford-f 150 directly from the Ford dealership brand new with only 30 miles in August 2005. By November 2005, we brought it in to the dealership with concerns of the tranny slipping. The dealership could not find the problem, and we went home. With-in 1 yr. We had to replace the power windows, and with-in 2 yrs, the transmission went out completely. Luckily it was under warranty, and was replaced. We have replaced every piece in that truck at least once and some several times. And the transmission twice. Last month the transission went out again. We paid $2700. To only bring it home, and immediately it went out again. The mechanic is baffled. He has been trying for 4 weeks to fix it, and has now thrown in the towel. Here I have a gorgeous truck, with a huge payment, and it's a piece of junk. We have maintained everything so precisely, never towed, never long trips, and have had all the up keep needed for this truck to last, so our son could take over when he is of age. I dont know what to do!.

2005 Ford f150, 139,000 miles. Truck started making grind/buzz noise intermitingly and would stop when accelarator was released. Took to Ford dealer and was told 4wd vacuum switch damged from water and driver side independent wheel end needed replaced. New switch has water shroud to prevent water damage which would indicate this is a known problem.
On certain model Ford vehicles using their 5. 4 liter engine (which includes Ford/Lincoln models) the spark plugs are of a 3 part design which will separate and shoot out of the top of the engine while running causing serious injury or even death and extensive damage to the engine. Ford is aware of this problem as I have been told by several service managers but Ford refuses to do anything about it because for every vehicle repair is a 1500. 00 repair bill for the dealer/Ford. For people whom don't have 1500. 00 to replace spark plugs which should be a 50. 00 repair, they remain at risk.
A spark plug blew out of the cylinder head, destroying the coil above it. No hint of any problems prior to blow out.
Fordmotor company on the 2005 Ford f150 there has been over 1000 complaints about the actuator on the four wheel drive there is a vacuum switch that operates them water runs down off the cowl contaminating the vac. Line causing the actuator to go out therewas a service bulletin put out showing that they new of this problem and did nothing to correct it. The switch controls the vac. To the actuator with no vac. The four wheel drive is engage when . To make it simply it takes vacuum to disengage the four wheel drive if you are going down the road and the switch fails what's going to happen you will ruin the four wheel drive actuators and could get into or cause a accident.
