Jerking and bumping noise in drive line at light acceleration just before or just after transmission shifts to the next gear. Dealer added a gear fluid additive that they said was left out at factory. This did not fix the problem.

Rocks were removed from the exhaust shield. The technician test drove the vehicle and stated that the noise was normal. While driving at 55 mph, the vehicle began jerking and the transmission failed without warning. The dealer stated that something became loose within the transmission and it needed to be replaced. Ford stated that the contact would have to pay out of pocket because the vehicle was not under warranty. The purchase date was unknown. The current mileage was 67,000 and failure mileage was 8.
