We have a corroded abs brake wire on our 2006 Ford f150 truck. The abs light came on and stayed on. We took it to our dealer and was told it was not covered under our extended warranty due to corrosion. I called Ford esp and was told the same thing (does not state this in coverages). When I asked about any covered part not being covered if it has any corrosion on it, I was told it does not cover corrosion. I live in northern ohio and this is impossible if the vehicle is more the a few years old. We believe that this is a brake safety issue and this wire should not have corroded this soon.
Complete power brake failure. I turned on my engine, heard a loud popping sound, drove forward a few feet and discovered the power brakes inoperable. No warning lights came on before or after the incident. I took the vehicle to the nearest Ford dealership --olympic Lincoln Mercury seattle-- and they repaired it under warranty. They said a poor connection of a pressure line under the fuel rail caused the problem. They said no recalls had been issued. They had no explanation for why the warning lights did not come on. This incident happened approximately 4 months ago. I don't have the paperwork in hand. If needed I can provide the exact date. The date above is a questioned. Olympic Lincoln Mercury has changed hands, it is now jack carrols Lincoln Mercury. This sudden loss of brakes without warning could have been disastrous. My son was with me.
