The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the air bag warning light illuminated. The warning light flickered intermittently and then remained illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.
I was driving on the highway when all of my gauges went dead including the speedometer, a couple of minutes later they came back on and when they did the airbag warning light started blinking rapidly. A few moments later the gauges went dead again, when they came back on the second time the airbag warning light started blinking rapidly and erratically. Since that time my gauges have failed 3 more times with the same behavior from the airbag warning light. I did some research online and found that even though Ford has not recalled this problem it has been experienced by hundreds of 2006 Ford f150 owners.
